Pregnancy Pointers

There are some of us who struggle with chronic sickness and infections, from allergy symptoms to UTI’s and more.  As you may know, infections and prescribed treatments can cause complications in pregnancy and parasite cleansing is simply not an option while pregnant or nursing. 

Here is how I managed to maintain my health while PREGNANT and nursing and they are even fairly safe for kids.

I always pray to God for direction and listen to my body to do what feels right for me.  This is not medically referenced but simply from my own experience.  I did not find any complications for me.  AGAIN USE CAUTION AND TRUST YOUR BODY IF YOU HAVE SIGNS OF DISTRESS.

1.  Diet

Avoid all sugar dairy and grains as much as possible.  You would do best to eliminate them completely.

2.  Water

Drink plenty of clean filtered water.

3.  Eat lots of

  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Pumpkin seeds and pineapple juice blended together
  • Coconut oil

Try this simple home remedy.  Make ahead and use often with any symptoms of illness or infections.

4.  Supplement with

Be sure to keep bowels freely moving.

3.  Hygiene

Detox baths at night

  • Borax and vinegar​ 1/2 – 1 C each thieves 8-10 drops diluted in a soap base to evenly distribute and avoid burns

Shower in am if you have any signs of intestinal worms with anal itching.  Worms and parasites are nocturnal.

change your panties regularly and wash or bag them immediately.

Wash laundry

Bag directly out of dryer according to each persons items.

Clean house

Thyme and thieves are a great non toxic home cleaning option that do the job well.

Get everyone involved if possible.

Treat the whole family the same, as well as add..

Group B Strep

With my fifth pregnancy, I had tested positive for Group B Strep and here is how I reversed the overgrowth and was tested negative 5 days later.  



  • Vaginal probiotics
    • I just used powdered Raw probiotic capsules and pushed them up inside a few times each day.
  • Probiotic foods and ferments
  • Raw Probiotics
    • I took double the recommended daily amount
  • Apple Cider Vinegar internally
    • I added 4 Tbsp apple cider vinegar to my water 2 times a day


  • Apple Cider Vinegar and Borax Detox Baths and used as a Douche
    • #1 – I Mixed the Borax and Vinegar in a Mason Jar
      • 2 C Apple Cider Vinegar
      • 1 C Borax
    • #2 – I made the Douche and set aside in a peri-bottle or other clean bottle
    • #3 – I bathed in the remaining Vinegar and Borax
    • #4 – I used the Douche mix
    • #5 – I rinsed off
    • #6 – Completely towel dried
  • Inserted a Raw Garlic Clove on a string vaginally (use a needle and thread it on for easy extraction)
  • Eat a few Raw Garlic Cloves or Healing Honey
  • Take Liposomal Vitamin C
  • GSE *
  • Olive Leaf Extract *

Others recommend

  • Coconut Oil for its naturally antiviral properties.
  • Vaginal plain organic yogurt vaginally.
  • Using a Chlorhexidine rinse vaginally before and during labor. (This is the usual protocol) there is evidence about the beneficial bacterial transfer during labor that brings this practice into question.

Note: stress makes things worse so use this time to slow down, ask for help, pamper yourself and know you are not alone.  By keeping your body clean inside and out, you will create an undesirable living environment for the infections and you will minimalize the effect it has on your body and growing baby.

Don’t forget to return to this and complete an full detox and cleanse after you wean your child and eliminate and lingering guests.

Diatomaceous Earth

I have been using Diatomaceous Earth for sometime now.  I came across this amazing substance when I lived in Denver.  We got bedbugs from a neighbor and it was horrendous.  Thankfully, I had researched and found that this could be helpful.  I later learned many more applications.

I have used diatomaceous earth (DE) every so often over the past 8 years.  As for the past 3 years, I used DE occasionally in my smoothies occasionally for internal intestinal parasites.  I found in small doses with lots of clean water, I feel really good.  It really has no taste but very drying and chalk-like.  I found the best and easiest way to get it in my diet.  As with all parasite cleansing, I was sure that I was using the bathroom regularly and eliminating waste and eating a clean and healthy diet.


You can find it at the hardware store for external uses in the pest control sections, however for HIGH QUALITY FOOD GRADE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH, I order locally from AZURE STANDARDS.


Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a natural organic material of fossilized remains of tiny, ancient aquatic organisms called diatoms. Remains of these diatoms including cell walls/shells, it easily crumbles to a fine powder, of biogenic silica.

Diatomaceous earth —- diatomite — works like a natural detox agent, helps to clean the blood, kills parasites and viruses that cause illness.  It’s affordable, simple to use and safer than many store-bought detox products.  Other benefits of using DE internally include reducing odors, helping reduce gas, cleansing the digestive tract, boosts liver function and absorbs toxins in the blood.

DE has Silica which works like antioxidants in high-antioxidant foods by remaining  stable particles being suspended in a liquid medium, this helps it to fight free radical damage.  As its broken into a colloidal form, it acts like a detoxifier for the blood while carrying an electrical charge and combines with free radicals and other harmful toxins. Silica can also neutralize the charge of free radicals enabling them to be removed from the body by sweat, urine and feces, and therefore slows oxidative damage and aging effects.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published a study reporting that silica helps the body to eliminate heavy metals, such as aluminum,  heavy metal detox. In studies, it has been shown to have a high-aluminum-affinity and reduces aluminum availability from the human gastrointestinal tract. (1)

Purify Water

An article in the Journal of Applied and Environmental Microbiology, reports that diatomaceous earth can help kill viruses and purify drinking water.  Viruses have been found to be dangerous and abundant in certain sources of drinking water, including wells, raising the prevalence of PARASITES and having a significant impact on bacteria and algae populations in the ecosystem. (2)

Tests have concluded that after filtration by DE, heavy metal and viral contaminated tap water, the DE helped absorb up to 80 percent of the viruses present, including poliovirus 1, echovirus 5 and coxsackievirus B5, which were all present in tap water even after filtration. (3)

Improves Joint, Bones, Ligaments, Teeth  and Ski Health

In 2007, the Journal of Nutrition Health and Aging published a study that stated dietary benefits of silicon for bones and connective tissues.   It prevents low bone mass (osteoporosis), which is considered “a silent epidemic of the 21st century.” Silica within DE helps with normal bone metabolism and joint formation, with evidence over the past 30 years suggesting there’s a positive association between dietary silicon intake and better bone mineral density. (6) Thus, DE makes a great addition to any osteoporosis diet and treatment plan.  DE is naturally abrasive and has been used in many toothpastes, skin exfoliators, polishes and skin scrubs.

Parasites and overall health 

The Oxford Journal of Poultry Science published a study that found DE has the potential to effectively control internal parasites.  It was observed in hens that produce organically raised, free-range eggs.  They studied two breeds of commercial egg-laying hens and observed that DE improved the egg laying production, quality of their eggs, and parasite control as compared to the control groups. (4)

Two groups of hens used in the study differed in their ability to resist internal parasites confirmed by examining their gastrointestinal tracts.  The hens fed DE had significantly lower incidences of infections.  They had fewer Capillaria FEC, slightly lower Eimeria FEC, fewer birds infected with Heterakis and significantly lower Heterakis worm infections.  The Chickens that were fed DE were significantly heavier in weight, laid more eggs and consumed more feed than hens fed the control diet, plus their eggs had larger yolks and more nutrient rich.

Is it Safe? 

The Food and Drug Administration states that food grade diatomaceous earth as “Generally Recognized as Safe,” which means it’s legally allowed to be added to many different types of foods, beverages and supplements. (9) Small amounts of silica are normally present in all body tissues and usually found in urine, too, so it’s well-tolerated and not known to cause many side effects. (10)

Basic steps for safely using DE as a detoxification agent and to protect bones and joints:

  • Take 1 teaspoon of food-grade diatomaceous earth with filtered water once a day on an empty stomach at least one hour before or two hours after eating.
  • Drink 1 cup of filtered water after each dose of DE to improve its effects.
  • Make sure to consume plenty of water with DE.
  • Increase dosage slowly over several weeks, up to 2 teaspoons daily, or 1 tablespoon max.
  • Split the dosage into two parts taken in the morning and one at night.
  • Take DE 10 days on and 10 days off for 90 days to effectively and safely detox.
    • Another option is to take DE daily for a few weeks and track symptoms, stopping and starting again throughout the year. It’s safest when you give your body breaks from detoxing and don’t use it continuously for very long periods of time.
    • NOTE: You may notice some mild side effects that can develop as your gut environment changes, yeast dies off and your body releases stored toxins, which should diminish within a couple weeks.


  •  Gardening

Directions: sprinkle or dusts lightly around the base or on the plants you need to protect from pest, do not cover the entire garden as you will kill many beneficial insects.

  • Safe Insect Control

    • roaches
    • fleas
    • bedbugs
    • spiders
    • drying effect by cutting up their exoskeleton

Directions: sprinkle or dusts lightly around the baseboards of your home or areas frequented by particular pests.

NOTE:  In extreme cases and for fleas and bedbugs, sprinkle lightly on beds, furniture, shelves and anywhere else you have a problem.  Also be sure to wash and bag (sprinkle DE inside the bag and bag immediately after drying) all clothing (separated by persons to easily find clothing during the time treatment is needed)

The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act has classified DE as a safe substance for household use.


  • Step 1: Brush and vacuum carpets or any area where you think bugs, insects or fleas could be lurking. This will aggravate them and get them to move, which allows DE to work better. (11)
  • Step 2: Apply diatomaceous earth powder where needed in your home, yard, your carpets, car, etc. Rub the powder into the carpets with a broom. Use enough to finely cover the surface but not too much that it’s easy to breathe in a lot.
  • Step 3: Let the powder sit for about four to 12 hours before vacuuming. It’s recommended that you repeat this process once a week for a total of three to four weeks.
  • Food Storage

    • Keeps foods free from bugs and pests
    • absorbs moisture content

Directions: sprinkle lightly in food such as grains to prevent pests.

  • Environment

    • absorbs chemical
    • used to clean up gas and oil spills

Directions: sprinkle over a spill to absorb and sweep up and dispose of properly.

Possible Side Effects of Diatomaceous Earth?

It is generally recognized as safe to use on the body or to consume, however, some people react to DE in the following way.  If you have sensitive skin, eyes or nasal passages, it’s a good idea to monitor your symptoms and watch out for any strong reactions. It’s also recommended that you keep DE away from babies and small children who might be more sensitive to DE’s effects and can react to it by experiencing irritations.  As with anything new, start off in small doses and listen to your body.  ALWAYS DRINK PLENTY OF FILTERED WATER..

  • I have read where it may be harsh for some who have KIDNEY STONES
  • irritation of the nose and nasal passages when you breathe it in, or if consumed in large amounts
  • it can contribute to coughs and shortness of breath.
  • irritate the skin and cause some mild irritation and dryness.

No long term health effects have been observed in external application on animals and no reporductive effects have been found in rats with high doses for six months


The National Pesticide Information Center states evidence that inhaling a very small amount of crystalline silicon over time (the kind used in small quantities in some types of diatomaceous earth, especially pesticides) might contribute to the following, however, the risk is low considering the vast majority of diatomaceous earth used in products for human consumption is amorphous, not crystalline silicon.

ALWAYS USE CAUTION WITH CHILDREN, WHILE PREGNANT OR NURSING.  Do your own research and start on a low dose and slowly.

DIY ~ Apple Cider Vinegar

As I continue my journey, I learn to do more things on my own and make things from scratch.  I come across easy and economical recipes to make things I am using daily.  With the kids selling apples each year with Watts Kids Market, we always have an abundance of apples.  While I love composting and we have our Worm Farm to feed, my friend suggested that I make my own apple cider vinegar.
Well I tried and botched the first batch, here is the batch I just made.


What you need:

  • Organic apple cores, as many as you can fit in a jar

  • Filtered water – fill to cover the cores

  • Organic apple cider vinegar with the mother – 1-2 Tbsp

Cover the jar with a coffer filter or cloth and let ferment in a dark spot in the cupboard or on the counter out of direct sunlight for a week or two.
Check every so often for vinegary smell.  Strain, bottle it up and refrigerate.  As with all ferments, avoid contact with metals or plastics.
Drink a Tbsp or 2 daily for optimum health, kidney stones or use it in your Detox Baths

2 DIY ~ Tonics Cancer & Infection Remedies

Master Tonic AKA Fire Cider

Fire cider, or Master Tonic, is a time tested remedy, used traditionally as an anti-microbial, decongestant, and circulatory herbs and spices.

A very potent antibiotic.

It can be taken daily to support the immune system, stimulate digestion, and warm you up on cold days so it make a great winter immune booster.  Use daily, just gargle and swallow 1 TBSP of fire cider every day with a meal.  It works best undiluted, but the first couple of times using, you may want to have a glass of filtered water available to chase it with.

It can be taken for combating a cold or infection by using 1 TBSP of the tonic 5-6 times a day.

Other ways that I have used Fire Cider is added to my vegetable juice, added to food in recipes especially good on quinoa dishes, or I have used as dressing on my salads with a little olive oil.

Once fermented, I strain and sautée some of the strained pulp with shredded carrots, cabbage, broccoli, and fresh herb stir-fry and add to spring rolls.

The main ingredients:

  • apple cider vinegar
  • 1 whole garlic bulb
  • 1 onion
  • 2 fingers ginger
  • 1 horseradish
  • 1-5 hot peppers
  • I have added 2 finger of turmeric as well

Add diced ingredients together in a large mason jar and cover with apple cider vinegar and place in a cool dark place for about a month but can be used after about a week or less if needed.

I have mine in the fridge now and still have used it after sitting for a year.  I did not strain my batch completely and I add vinegar to it when low on liquid.

CAUTION:  The end result is potent and hot, I NEVER use on an empty stomach, and I start with a teaspoon for the first few times.

It is considered by this Author to be safe for pregnant women and children, in small doses as it can be quite strong, as ingredients are all-natural and contain no toxins.



Along my journey, I learned of Essiac Tea, this blend of 4 different herbs are believed to fight cancer, improve immunity, increase detoxification and decrease inflammation.  I felt led to try it and took about 8-12 cups of this amazing tea.  I bought mine locally as a dry herb combo, but you could purchase these individually and combine and steep.  I will find my recipe and recommended dose and update it asap (please reach out to me if you get to it before I get to this and I will locate it for you quicker)

These primary ingredients are:

I Need A Dairy Goat~Goat Milk Kefir

My Top 10 Lifestyle Changes for Healing

I started my journey of healing with a few simple diet changes for my kidney stones and stumbled upon several things that relieved and ultimately healed my eczema.  I first cut sugar and did a 30 day faith detox, 10 days into that, I also found that my husbands mold cleaner, THYME, that he used for his remediation business, FLARED my hands but ultimately brought some major healing. My next step is Metal Detoxing after I stop breastfeeding.  I still have mercury fillings in my mouth and I have a constant reminder of the toxins they are leaching into my body.  I must find a dentist who specializes in safe removal of amalgam metal fillings to safely remove them. I get a tinge of kidney pain any time that I waiver from this diet as a firm reminder that I never want to experience another Kidney Stone EVER…  This pain keeps me on my toes here.

Stock Your Pantry

I always have a stocked pantry with items that I can whip up a delicious desert to take along.  I try to stock my freezer with a variety of grab and go sizes for on the go.  And when going to a potluck, I make 2 trays just so that I can have a back up in case my 1st tray is devoured before my family gets the chance to dish up.

Here are some of my go to items.

  • Carob chips, great for cookies
  • Medjool dates (dates and almond or pecans make great graham cracker crust replacements and fill with fresh fruit sprinkled with cinnamon)
  • Organic Spelt Flour
  • Almonds and pecans (Can be hard on kidneys)

  • Almond or Peanut butter or I make my own in my Vitamix

I have a few fail safe recipes and ideas that get me through time with my family and friends while keeping my health on track. 

Try This Gut Healing Coconut Fudge



Here is a simple and fast recipe my daughter and I made to curb our cravings.

And guess what? it is healthy! 

In my KitchenAid I can whip up a batch or two of healing fudge in 20 mins and it freezes fairly well a day or two ahead.
Make your own healing treat and curb your sugar and chocolate cravings all in one. Caution for those with diabetes and other insulin issues, honey may spike your sugar so find something that works for your body.  Molasses, agave, stevia, xylitol, or less honey.

Coconut Fudge (Prep time: 10 mins)

  • 1 C organic extra virgin coconut oil
  • 1 C organic peanut butter
  • 1/4 C raw honey (or less to taste) or molasses
  • 3 Tbsp carob powder or unsweetened cocoa or more to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Saigon cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • Himalayan sea salt (optional)


  1. In a KitchenAid, blend softened coconut oil and peanut butter until smooth and well blended.
  2. Add honey, cocoa powder, and cinnamon taste. Add vanilla.
  3. Pour into shallow dish, cover and refrigerate and sneak into them until they disappear.
  4. Must be refrigerated until consumed due to melting at room temps. The cooled coconut acts as the hardening agent in these.
Enjoy alone or share with others.
Disclaimer: coconut oil is a natural laxative. Do not try to eat these all at once.  Only consume a small amount until your body is used tv o the coconut oil.

Uncommon Mint Carob Popcorn


For movie night, I thought that I would make a quick treat.  Here is what I came up with from the items stocked in my pantry.




  1. In a air popcorn maker, add 1/4 c popcorn kernels.
  2. Slowly add carob baking chips while popping to melt OR add them later and stir while heated air continues to melt them onto the popcorn.
  3. Meanwhile, melt coconut oil in a saucepan and drizzle over popcorn.
  4. Sprinkle salt to taste while mixing to ensure all chips and coconut oil is evenly distributed over the popcorn.
Enjoy this tasty treat next movie night.


Oatmeal Carob Chip Cookies


My Daughter just loves to bake.  She is always asking me to help her come up with recipes we can eat.  Here is one we made by altering a few ingredients.  Here are the results.  YUMMY COOKIES.


  • 1 C     Organic oats
  • ¾ C    Organic Spelt flour or almond flour (Hard on kidney stone formers)
  • 1 ½    tsp baking powder aluminum free
  • 1 ½    tsp cinnamon
  • 1        dash himalayan sea salt
  • 2        Tbsp butter
  • 1        tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1        large egg
  • ½ C    Raw honey
  • ½ C    Carob chips, divided in half


  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Coat a baking sheet with coconut oil
  3. Pull out 2 medium bowls, one for dry ingredients, one for wet.
  4. In one bowl, combine dry ingredients. (Reserve half of the chips for adding after baking)
  5. Melt the butter in the other bowl.  Whisk in the vanilla, then the egg. Whisk in the honey.
  6. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and use a wooden spoon to stir until it has just come together (don’t overdo it).
  7. Refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes, or freeze for about 15 minutes.
  8. Use your hands to shape the dough into roughly 15 cookies.
  9. Place on prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-13 minutes, or until they have just started to brown on the edges.
Once you remove them from the oven, immediately press the remaining carob chips into the tops of the cookies.
Pour some Coconut milk and enjoy!
Let cool on the pan for a few minutes before moving them to a cooling rack.

Yummy Carob No Bake Cookies



Healthy Carob No Bake Cookies (Prep time: 20 mins)

In a saucepan combine:

  • 1 c raw coconut sugar
  • 2 Tbsp carob powder
  • ½ c grass fed butter (or coconut oil)
  • ½ c organic or local raw milk (I use raw goats milk)

Bring ingredients to a boil and boil for 1 min. Do NOT OVERCOOK.

Remove from heat and ADD:

  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ c organic peanut butter
  • 3 c organic oats

Refrigerate or freeze if desired.  Do not look the other way or they will be devoured by anyone around.


Holiday Helps

I can blend up some pecan and dates into a crust in my Vitamix and press into a pie plate and toss some strawberries inside and sprinkle cinnamon on and chill or freeze in 15 to 30 mins.

Easy Pie Crust

  • 1.5 cups medjool dates
  • 1.5 cups pecan
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries or other topping.
  • Dash of cinnamon

Mix in a Vitamix and press into pie place

Plan, prepare, and party….

What about INFECTIONS?

So a lot has happened since my journey of healing has begun.  This year I had a home birth with baby number 5, began small homesteading projects, and helped the kids begin a small family business, Watts Kids Market, selling mild and beneficial goat milk soap and herbal salves that have helped me along this journey.



I had a few complications while pregnant, and postpartum and here is my summary for getting through my infections SAFELY EVEN WHILE PREGNANT or BREASTFEEDING…

Kidney Stones

I had kidney stones at 15 weeks pregnant, after picking apricots, pulling weeds, and transplanting strawberries in July.


And KNOWING what may have been the trigger, antibiotic use several years ago (see #8 in linked article).  IN MY CASE ANTIBIOTICS AND TAMIFLU.

Trouble for kidneys seemed to have started after I had the Swine Flu in 2010, I went along with recommended Tamiflu, with known side effects being kidney disease…  LUCKY FOR ME…


Then in 2012 I came up with protein in my urine while pregnant and swollen kidneys, then I had unexplained hives just in the mornings during this pregnancy as well.




I discovered this amazing remedy by trying to use up extra ingredients I had around.  I threw them altogether and let them sit a while.  Then when we needed to eat extra garlic, it was easier to get the kids or myself.

Healing Honey

  • Local Raw Honey
  • Raw Garlic Cloves
  • Minced Ginger Root
  • Minced Turmeric Root

I have also added

  • Lemongrass
  • Rosemary


  1. Peel and dice all ingredients
  2. Fill a small, medium or large mason jar
  3. Pour honey over til you cover the ingredients leaving 1/8 ” head space.
  4. Cover lightly with a lid.
  5. In 12-24 hours add more honey til jar is full.

The mix will somewhat ferment.

  • Clean neck and rim with damp cloth or paper towel.  Seal with clean lid and ring.
  • Store 6 weeks in cupboard and keeps longer in refrigerator or cool location.



Once finished, store in a cool dry place or refrigerate for longer keeping.  I have had mine over 6 months.

Note:  If using metal canning lids you may consider a piece of parchment or waxed paper to reduce rusting lid around the ring.

Take a spoonful or more as needed for any and all symptoms.

Great for illness, parasites, infections, sore throat, GBS, stomach aches, fevers, headache, pain and inflammation, cold or flu, and more.

3 Uses Of Healing Honey

2018 5th PREGNANCY

Some of the testing late in pregnancy is GBS, Group B Strep.  I was advised that I would be given antibiotics during labor to prevent transferring this harmful bacteria to the baby.  Well neither option was okay for me so I began to search for more natural ways to cure it and then retest…  I stumbled upon and learned that it could be done by basic everyday foods and easy to do.  I quickly went to work and followed the things that I had on hand and a bit more.



  • I ate probiotic foods such as Kefir, Sauerkraut and other fermented foods
  • I took a probiotic supplement and using it vaginally
  • I consumed raw garlic, cloves SEVERAL TIMES daily.  AND healing honey
  • I consumed Coconut Oil for its naturally antiviral properties.
  • I drank raw apple cider vinegar daily internally and a daily rinse douche.
  • Lemon water with GSE- Grapefruit Seed Extract (use with caution and ask your care provider if pregnant)
  • I bathed in borax and vinegar and essential oils

After 5 days, I went in for retesting and came back GBS negative.  I would still be pressured to use antibiotics during labor if I was transported to a hospital for delivery.   Thankfully, we still have a choice and can refuse any treatments without recourse in this beautiful State of Idaho, many thanks for those who diligently fight to remain FREE, HEALTH FREEDOM IDAHO.




I delivered in early January at home to a beautiful and healthy baby boy with no GBS…

2 days later, I was full on sick with the flu due to exposure at my daughters birthday party.  I kept my baby close and used my Healing Honey and recovered quickly without my son getting sick at all.  Dr Brus wasn’t surprised as Breastmilk is amazing…

In July, I went to milk our goat and had flip flops on.  I hadn’t planned to do any work out there so I thought I was OK to wear them.  Well this sheet of 4 x 8 siding was leaning on the side of the barn and it was in the way of clearing some manure that I was going to shovel up, so I attempted to move this sheet by myself using my foot as a leverage point.  I slid the sheet right over my foot and before I knew it, I had sent a large stick sliver, manure and all, into the side of my foot.  I finished working and hadn’t realized just how big this SLIVER really was.  I filtered the milk and then looked down to check out the damage, by this time i was having trouble walking and sat down to realize this SLIVER was large and 4 inches long.


The stick went in diagonally from the side and all the way to my big toe.

Having had trouble with the ER, I considered pulling it out myself until I realized just how big it was and that it was woven between foot bones and cartilage and move my bones each time I stepped flat.

I gathered up my kids from the farm and into the van and we drove to the ER.

It only bled what you see in the picture and I waited 30 mins to head to the ER from time of injury, 30-45 minutes of waiting to be roomed at the ER, 20 or so minutes from then for the Dr to come in and look, 20 plus minutes for them to decide what to do next and x-ray (even though you cannot see wood in an x-ray) and then 10 plus minutes to gather needed, meds, tools and supplies to remove the PLANK…

Having understanding of the dangers of antibiotics and kidney stones (point #8 in article)…  I strongly refused antibiotics and the understanding of the ingredients and risk I strongly refused the tetanus shot against Dr recommendations.   I also read up how others have fought off tetanus naturally

So about 2 hrs of time for bacteria to set in well…


The nice Dr. carefully removed the wood piece and was about to leave, when I asked to see what she had removed.  She showed me the SMALL piece in the photo below.  I had to tell her that I was sure there was more inside and that what she had pulled out was only 1/4 of what was still inside.  She wasn’t so sure, but after my convincing her there was more, she agreed to cut open the other end near the toe and explore some more.  She pulled another 3 inches out the other end and irrigated it and let it bleed a little.

A nurse then came in to clean and wrap it and proceeded to contaminate it and cover it tightly with wound dressing against the recommendations to avoid tetanus.

I raced out of there as fast as I could and went home to soak it in a hot detox bath.

Here is what I did to avoid antibiotics and tetanus..

Soaked my foot several times that day

Took natural infection fighting remedies below.

In a small foot tub I added

  • Hottest water I could get
  • 1/4 c borax
  • 1/4 c epsom salt
  • 1/4 c apple cider vinegar
  • Thyme and Cloves Essential oils

I applied to the foot but not over the wound

Remedies I took internally

  • several spoonfuls of Healing Honey as several times a day
  • GSE – Grapefruit Seed Extract
  • Sovereign Silver
  • Chewing and swallowing raw garlic
  • Lots of water
  • Probiotics
  • Olive Leaf Extract
  • Fire Cider

I continued to soak and take internal remedies until signs were completely absent for a few days.  It was still very painful to walk and I may have something still festering out but have not had to return to have it removed.
