DIY – Homesteader’s Tallow Soap

A simple plain bar that is so satisfying. (Makes about 8 ~ 4oz bars)

  1. GATHER SOAP MAKING SUPPLIES
  • Crockpot
  • Kitchen Scale
  • Silicone soap mold
  • Glass for lye weighing
  • Bowl for oil weighing
  • Stainless steel knife or stirring spoon
  • Silicone spatula
  • Goggles
  • Gloves
  • Long sleeve shirt 
  • Immersion blender 
  1. GATHER INGREDIENTS
  • Filtered Water
  • Beef Tallow
  • Lye
  • Essential oils

32 oz Beef Tallow

4.2 oz Lye*

12.16 oz Water

1.5 oz essential oil (optional)

*Use proper precaution for use with lye, gloves, goggles and long sleeve shirt.  Always use in well ventilated area and do not breathe in fumes from lye while mixing soap batch.

  1. WEIGH OUT INGREDIENTS

Weigh out all ingredients on a accurate digital kitchen scale

  1. Add measured Tallow to crockpot And melt
  2. Add water to jar.
  3. In a well ventilated area, slowly add lye to the water while stirring slowly until dissolved completely, use care not to splash around. Continue stirring using care not to breath in fumes. Wear a mask and goggles and gloves. This mixture will be hot in temperature and the lye can burn skin, use vinegar to neutralize any lye that may splash out.
  4. Use an immersion blender slowly.  Be sure it is fully immersed before turning on and blend well and continually using a spatula to remove any mix from the sides of the crockpot. Use caution not to place the blender anywhere that may melt.

*DO NOT LIFT BLENDER WHILE IN USE OR USE ON TOP OF LIQUID it will splash all over causing lye burns on you or make a mess.  (Ask me how I know).  

  1. Once the soap reaches trace (appears like pudding) add any essential oils or coloring or any other additive and quickly but careful blend well.
  2. Pour or spoon into mold and use spatula to get as much soap out of crocks pot as possible

My Top 10 Lifestyle Changes for Healing

I started my journey of healing with a few simple diet changes for my kidney stones and stumbled upon several things that relieved and ultimately healed my eczema.  I first cut sugar and did a 30 day faith detox, 10 days into that, I also found that my husbands mold cleaner, THYME, that he used for his remediation business, FLARED my hands but ultimately brought some major healing. Another accidental discovery happened while doing my laundry in vinegar borax and baking soda. Reconstructing my normal existence…

If you would have told me three years ago that things in my life would NEVER be the same I would have told you you were crazy.  I thought I would forever struggle with skin issues, pain, night crawling, itching and blistering.  I thought I would always be tired and sluggish and in a brain fog because I was getting older.

But that is exactly what has occurred over the nine months of my healing.  Every aspect of my life has been demolished and reconstructed in a whole new and improved way.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

  • I sleep soundly and wake up refreshed.
  • I eat better food.
  • I feel better.
  • I shop differently.
  • My relationships have changed.
  • My routine has had drastic reconstructing.
  • My goals and perspectives have changed.

NOTHING is as it used to be and it NEVER will be again.  I’m moving on to new horizons.  There is NO TURNING BACK.

One Day at a Time

We live in a culture that seeks immediate results.  We want things NOW.  We want things easy.

Well nothing is that simple.  When it comes to healing and lasting results we must take it One Day at a Time and recognize our complete need for divine intervention.

I want to simplify it for you and share some history of how I got to where I am.

In the early 2000’s, I had heard about detoxing and cleansing when I worked for Dr Christopher’s herb shop connection back in college over.  But like so many, I had never considered my need for changing anything or pursuing it for my health, I was young and healthy.

That was then.

Fast forward to Early 2016

I knew I was not feeling well, I was tired all the time, and I struggled to get out of bed.  It seemed like a mild depression or lack of motivation.  Maybe I was just getting older.

I had settled for this as normal.  I couldn’t figure out why I had no energy, after all, I ate a variety of good food and drank only water.

On top of that, my kidneys were hurting almost constantly, reminding me of the nickel sized kidneys stone that had put me in the hospital for three days while camping in August of 2012 and my skin eczema had reached an all time unbearable, itchy, and blistering state that kept me up most nights.  Especially the week leading up the the full moon.

I started experimenting with removing added sugar from my diet and discovered that my eczema and my kidneys were fueled by added sugars.  Eating a clean diet and slowly introducing green drinks, Probiotics and Digestive enzymes as well as Chicken Broth and bone broth to my diet.  I also had checked out a book from the library The 30 Day Faith Detox by Laura Harris.  In this book, I found helpful tips on easy detoxes from one organ to the next, recipes and shopping recommendations, as if this wasn’t enough great stuff, she wraps it all up with a great daily devotional and spiritual and relational detox tips.  (I only made it to day 10—Here is why ~ I am looking forward to completing the 30 day journey as soon as I stop breastfeeding my 5th child)

I soon started experimenting with removing added sugar from my diet and discovered that my eczema and my kidneys were fueled by added sugars.

I knew I had stumbled on something incredibly effective and dove right in.  My body was overloaded in many areas and I was desperate for lasting result.

Here is my reasons for detoxing.

  • I knew my body must be overloaded
  • I heard about the benefits of detoxing
  • My organs were beginning to hurt for no apparent reason
  • I was tired of feeling like I could not function
  • The improvements I had after stopping my added sugar intake by using alternatives to my favorite sweets, chocolate, and beginning my green drinks after one week were evidence of HOPE.

About this same time, I had been talking with my friend in South Africa and gaining a lot of good Ayurvedic remedies and I had checked out the book 30 Day Faith Detox By Laura Harris from the library.  This all fell into place at the right time.  After eliminating added sugar from my diet, I began noticing changes to my eczema and even surprised by the disappearance of the corn on my foot that I had been quite used to as the new normal.  I started using the methods in the The 30 Day Faith Detox which included Detoxing the Liver gently, Colon and Eating Clean.

My eczema started clearing up after I was able to go without sugar and started drinking my greens from Purity Products Organic Juice Cleanse. It would flair back up when I snuck any sugar and that dang maddening itch began.  I would notice a pattern as I was out standing outside observing the full moon.  So I began to pay attention and realized that quite a bit of restlessness, swelling and itching occurred each month for about 5 days prior and up to the full moon.  I tried many things that helped, like changing my diet, morning detox drink, and some that didn’t.  While diets is key, the easiest most simple methods are my Nightly Detox Baths followed by soaking my hand in vodka and essential oils and alternating with my thyme discovery.  I used these things nightly until my hand cleared and anytime I could feel a flare up followed by applying Pine Salve. With patience and vigor over the past 8 months I have been clear of painful blistering for two months now. End Each Night With a Detox Bath

is the largest detox organ of our body. Once I accepted this, I started taking detox baths every night until my skin cleared up nicely.  I simply used a recommended bath I had heard about online and added some essential oils for fragrance.

My mom has used Young Living Essential oils for years for massage therapy, but I had just thought they were used for their scent alone.  I just hadn’t grasped the healing properties they hold until this year.

Before going to bed each night I would get proactive, I found that I could sleep longer if I bathed before bed.

BEFORE BATH

My Nightly Routine During Intense FLARES (looking back, it would be helpful to find a basket and keep all these things handy for easy access)

  • Cinnamon and Cayenne Scrubs
  • I also found great healing in OTHER METHODS A FEW HOURS BEFORE BATHING OR BED
  • I prepared a detox drink or two to keep hydrated and lots of water, (I sometimes needed help getting these as I would be in the bath ASAP seeking relief from the pain and flaring)
  • I skin brushed for lymphatic detox
  • I gathered my detox bath ingredients, kept under the bathroom sink, a good book or anything to do while in there. (I also kept these things handy in my bathroom when I could)
  • A good towel or two and a robe

Skin Brushing is great to speed up detoxing and help the body move lymph and boost the immune system.  Basically running a dry bristle brush over the skin lightly several times in sets starting at limbs and moving slowly towards the heart.

Standing in the shower just before running the bath or before bed.

  • I start on the hands and move from top of fingers to shoulders to the heart.
  • Then the palm of hands up the arms and then under the armpits then towards the heart.
  • Then repeat the other arm.  Then I go from the face to the neck and down towards the heart and cover every inch.
  • Then I move from the top of the feet up the legs around the groin and up towards the heart and repeat til every area of the legs have been brushed.
  • Then I move from the top of the feet up the legs around the groin and up towards the heart and repeat til every area of the legs have been brushed.

We have lymph nodes in several areas of our bodies and our lymphatic system is part of our immune system and it gets backed up.  There is no pump and it relies on exercise and movement in order to work and flow freely and oftentimes gets backed up and causes inflamed lymph nodes when our body is trying to fight off infections.  Skin brushing helps get thing moving freely as intended.

DETOX BATHS (I rotated these based on what I had available, I would add ingredients until I would get a reaction if I was up for it)

I was healing from ECZEMA and I found heat helped soothe the itch.  The HOTTER THE WATER, THE BETTER.  I even turned up the temperature on my water heater.  PLEASE USE CAUTION AND DO NOT BURN YOURSELF OR YOUR KIDS!!!

During the coarse of my healing, I would soak as much as possible.  Almost nightly, and more frequently when my eczema was flaring.  I would only use a mild soap such as goat milk soap

WHY THYME AND BORAX?

I followed my bath by drying completely and rubbing a mix of 1/4 cup vodka, 5 drops of thyme and 5 drops of cloves essential oils on any eczema until the itch has settled, along with any dry spots, zits, moles, and skin tags and allowing to air dry then applying a pine salve I had made onto my eczema.  I had tried it before from my mom and loved it so much that I made my own.

These are some suggestions on detoxing essential oils

More suggestions for detox baths

  • 1/4 cup epsom salt
  • 5-10 drops of essential oils (add to a soap first to disperse)

Along with Detox Baths and Diet, I applied OTHER METHODS

  • Borax and Dish Soap

I always follow end the night and begin the morning using Herbal Pine Salve

  • Apple cider vinegar

  • Baking Soda
  • Sea salt

  • Added 5-10 drops of essential oils (add to a soap first to disperse)

  • Use healthy alternatives for sugar sparingly as they are more concentrated sugars.

Be careful not to fall into looking for sugar-free as an alternative. There are many unsafe alternatives that are as bad or worse than added sugar.

Use less sugar alternatives as they are even considered questionable by some as some healthy sugars that can kill you.

My Testimony

I have discovered the natural way to improve my life.  It’s far too good to keep to myself. This is for all my friends and family who are curious about my new lifestyle changes and all those others who would like to learn what has worked for me.

Some of us grow up hearing, ‘it’s all about our diet and exercise.’ Well, if you are like me, you may think, ‘I do not need to diet’, or , ‘I eat pretty healthy.’  This is the thinking that has gotten me into a bit of trouble.  Maybe you have trouble losing weight, feel sluggish, losing momentum or plain just don’t ever feel good.  You may be on your own healing path and have tips to share.  You’re in the right place.

Well, diet and exercise is a broad and overused term. I will attempt to break it down and explain exactly what that means to me today…

About Me – My Diet

I am a 36 year old, mother of five children and 110 pounds on a heavy day.  I grew up in Utah, eating the average American diet of cold cereals, malt o meal, oatmeal, eggs, french toast, pancakes, waffles all smothered in margarine and imitation maple syrup and toast with margarine for breakfast’s. Macaroni and cheese, ramen noodles, school lunches and fast foods once or twice a month for lunches.  I enjoyed a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables for snacks and home cooked dinners (mostly out of a can of coarse).  I drank a cup or two of milk daily and a juice on occasion.  We had six kids in the family so the fresh food went quickly.

My Toxic History Turned Testimony

I recreationally used drugs and alcohol and tobacco as a teenager, but I quickly turned my life around upon getting pregnant, and turning my life over to God and being forgiven by the blood shed by Jesus Christ for all my sins. I married at 17 and began my family.

My Struggle With Eczema and Skin

I have always been fairly healthy, but occasionally I had suffered from dry skin and cracking, some athletes feet, eczema and warts.  These skin issues went dormant mostly after my teen years of partying. (I will share my conclusion on this in a later post)

My Home Cooking

As a mom, I loved to cook mostly from scratch and use family recipes, I made homemade pies like my dad and my mom’s no bake cheesecake for Christmas and Thanksgiving. I enjoy creating new and healthy snacks, rice krispie treats, cookies of all kinds (with what I thought was a healthy twist.)  I also enjoyed homemade pancakes smothered in imitation syrup, whole wheat flour, oatmeal raisin cookies with nuts, I served my family crepes weekly (white flour, egg, milk, a thin pancake smothered in margarine and powdered sugar).

My Food Toxins

Basically I ate a good balance of good and healthy foods and plenty of bad foods, a ton of candy, sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup and other toxins for over 30 years. You get the picture.

All in all, I seemed pretty healthy most of the time. I did start to feel sluggish, low energy, and had a complete lack of motivation or ability to keep up with my kids the past 10 years or so, but this is normal right?

So I thought…

WHY WAS I STILL SICK?

This is only the beginning of amazing things to come.

The Trials and Errors of My Healing Journey

Here is the basics to my Journey of healing.

Remedies in the order that I have tried and the results I got (a work in progress)

Topicals

Dr recommendations prescribed and over the counter yeast and fungal creams, steroids and more.

Vodka and essential oils.

Skin products

Cayenne pepper and yogurt-applied topically on my hand eczema and covered with a glove when needed

Peanut butter cinnamon and honey-combined as a scrub.  Apply over eczema and scrub.  Let sit scrape off and wash with non toxic soap.

Detox baths

Vinegar and borax-detox bath with added essential oils such as, thieves, cloves, rosemary, lavender.  To avoid oil burns mix with a small amount of castile soap and run under bath water to disperse evenly.

Cloves-tincture internal (NOT ESSENTIAL OIL) and topically

Garlic and olive oil (Topical and internal)

Borax and peroxide-bath with oils as well

3 DIY HEALTHY HOMESTEADING PROJECTS

MAKING YOUR OWN PRODUCTS IS FUN AND REWARDING AND PART OF BECOMING MORE SELF SUFFICIENT

DIY – LAVENDER DETOX BATH/FOOT SOAK

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Epsom Salt
  • 10-30 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 1 cup Bentonite Clay
  • 1 cup Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Borax
  • 1 cup sea salt optional

DIRECTIONS

  • In a small bowl 
  1. Mix epsom salt with lavender essential oil (or oil of choice)
  • In a large glass bowl or jar
  1. Add 1 cup bentonite clay
  2. Add 1 cup baking soda
  3. Add 1 cup borax
  4. Mix well and add epsom salt mix to the large bowl.  
  5. Store in a sealed container until use.  
  6. Label container with the following instructions. 

USE:

  1. Add 1/2-2 cups to an inch or two of warm water In a bath or foot soak.
  2. Drink a cup or two of clean filtered water.
  3. Get in the water.
  4. Slowly add HOT water until you cannot stand it any longer
  5. Soak for 20 minutes
  6. Rinse off well
  7. Drink plenty of clean filtered water
  • Be sure there is no metal exposed to the water. Use a rubber tub stop or bag in needed.

Herb Tincture – Folk Method

SUPPLIES NEEDED

  • Dry or fresh quality wildcrafted(foraged) or organically grown herbs (cut and or broken up well)
  • High proof alcohol (anything you have will work in a pinch)
  • Glass jar with a plastic lid if possible, parchment will work between jar and lid.
  • 4-6 weeks in a dark location
  • Dark amber or cobalt glass dropper bottle is preferred
  • Label the jar marked with date and herb and alcohol used

Basic steps

  1. Fill your tincturing container with the correct amount of herbs. Proportions are important here: too little, and you’ll end up with a weak tincture. Too much, and the amount of alcohol added won’t be enough to pull out all the plant goodness from your herbs.

GENERALLY ½ CONTAINER FULL Dried herbs OR ⅓ CONTAINER of fresh herbs

  1. The appropriate alcohol strength and the relative amount of plant material to use will vary based on what you’re tincturing. Here are some basic measurement guidelines:

GENERALLY ¾ OF THE CONTAINER FULL

  1. Dilution (optional) may reduce shelf life

¼ Container liquid distilled water

  1. Place in a cupboard out of direct sunlight and shake often
  2. Strain in 4-6 weeks and put in tincture bottles
  3. Label the bottles

Alcohol Type and Strength

The appropriate alcohol strength for your tincture will depend upon the qualities of the plant material being used. Stronger is not always better!

Tips for matching your alcohol strength to the herb being tinctured:

40% to 50% alcohol by volume (80- to 90-proof vodka)

• “Standard” percentage range for tinctures.

• Good for most dried herbs and fresh herbs that are not super juicy.

• Good for extraction of water-soluble properties.

67.5% to 70% alcohol by volume (half 80-proof vodka and half 190-proof grain alcohol)

• Extracts the most volatile aromatic properties.

• Good for fresh, high-moisture herbs like lemon balm, berries, and aromatic roots.

• The higher alcohol percentage will draw out more of the plant juices.

85% to 95% alcohol by volume (190-proof grain alcohol)

• Good for dissolving gums and resins but not necessary for most plant material.  

• Extracts the aromatics and essential oils bound in a plant that don’t dissipate easily.

• This alcohol strength can produce a tincture that’s not easy to take and will also dehydrate the herbs if used for botanicals beyond gums and resins.

Pure Tallow Soap Recipe

INGREDIENTS NEEDED

30 oz tallow or lard (be sure to weigh on a scale)

4 oz 100% pure lye 

11 oz distilled water

*When making soap, always measure by WEIGHT, not by volume

0.5 oz essential oil if desired

SUPPLIES NEEDED READY TO USE

Eye protection

Gloves 

Dust mask

Crock pot

Silicone or freezer paper lined container or soap box

Stick blender all metal

APPROXIMATED TIME 2-3 HRS

  • Melt the tallow in the crockpot (or a pot over the stove if you’re in a hurry).
  • Once the fat is nearly all melted, put on your safety gear and carefully measure the lye.

In a heat tolerant glass or stainless bowl or jar and in an area with good ventilation (I do this under with my oven fan on), carefully stir the lye into the measured water. ALWAYS add the lye to the water– do NOT add the water to the lye, as it can result in a volcano-like reaction.  

Use gloves, goggles and mask for protection from.

Stir this lye/water mixture until it has dissolved and let it sit for a few minutes. There will be a chemical reaction between the lye and water, and the water will become very hot, so be careful handling the container.  Wait til the solution is clear and cool enough to handle.

Place the melted tallow in the crockpot (if it’s not already there), and slowly stir the lye/water mixture in.

Switch to an immersion blender (trust me, unless you want to stand there stirring for an hour, you’ll use an immersion blender), and proceed to blend the tallow, lye, and water until you reach TRACE.

TRACE is when the mixture turns to a pudding-like consistency and holds its shape when you drip a bit on top.

Now put the lid on the crockpot, set it on LOW, and allow it to cook for 45-60 minutes. It will bubble and froth, which is fine. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t attempt to bubble out of the pot. If it attempts an escape, just stir it back down.

Once it has cooked for a while and passes the “zap” test, IT DOESN’T HAVE A ZAP IF SMALL AMOUNT IS TOUCHED TO THE TIP OF TONGUE, pour/scoop it into a mold and COVER WITH a piece of CARDBOARD AND WRAP IN A TOWEL and allow it to set for 12-24 hours.

Remove the solid soap from the mold, cut into bars and set on a wire rack to cure for 4-6 weeks.  Soap will not be usable until then.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS….  

RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT

YOU ARE NOT LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO COMMUNICATE, RESPOND, EXPLAIN OR TALK TO CPS FOR ANY REASON.

It is ALWAYS easier to keep your children AWAY from the CHAINS of CPS than it is to get out of their GRIPS once they inch their way into your lives.  THEREFORE, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING TO WORK WITH.  Many innocent parents willingly comply, believing they will be vindicated, only to find themselves trampled on and intruded upon.  Some innocent families are EVEN separated on very little evidence or hearsay.

ALSO

Be sure your children know that they have the right to say, “I don’t want to be interviewed without my parents, an attorney and a tape recorder present.”

RIGHT TO AN ATTORNEY

IMPORTANT- Don’t speak to CPS. Get an attorney familiar with CPS and have all communications made through them.  

ANYTHING YOU SAY, CAN AND WILL BE TWISTED AND USED AGAINST YOU.  They do not follow regular court procedures and are not based on “innocent until proven guilty” notions.  They operate on hearsay and potentially harmful accusations.

It is not the time to prove anything.  It is their job to try to find backing to their case.

Don’t agree to/or sign anything without an attorney present.  Do NOT ENTER into CONTRACT with them.

RIGHT TO PRIVACY

Note:  For CPS this isn’t ONLY about the initial report.  Alligations only give them an invitation to seek more evidence on you and to BUILD A CASE AGAINST YOU.  I think many people find themselves thinking it is simply about the one incident that initiated the contact.  They are looking for ANY sign that they can use.

This could include CPS attempting to gather info:

  • In your home
  • At your child’s school
  • Friends, neighbors, relatives (DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO)
  • Medical Records

    If your child is still with you, protect them and offer no assistance to those attempting to intrude upon your family.

DO NOT ASSIST THEM, IT IS NOT YOUR JOB TO PROVE ANYTHING.

Other Options 

GIVE THEM NOTICE OF THEIR VIOLATION OF YOUR RIGHTS.

Ongoing Harassment

If they show up after being asked not to return without a warrant or continue contacting you after you have nicely asked them to contact your attorney, they are in violation and you MAY consider a restraining order, tort claim and harassment suit.

DOCUMENTING-CONTACT LOG

Keep Legal Records

“IF” you are being called, your child interviewed, or other contact is being made through an attorney or directly.

1-Keep a spiral-bound notebook on hand and use it to document every contact with child protective services or child protective services appointed “service providers”. Don’t back down on this! Prepare in advance, and stand firm against CPS agents!

2-Write a letter of facts
After each contact, write a letter to your social worker or party involved via certified mail(some recommend having such a letter notarized) detailing what occurred, (IF CONTACT IS HAPPENING – request that the social worker confirm or deny the facts as you understand them within ten days of receipt of your letter.) WHO, WHAT, WHEN WHERE WHY HOW DATE TIME ETC.  

If no letter disputing the facts is received, then your statement of facts will be automatically confirmed. This form of documentation can later be used as evidence in your favor in juvenile family court.

  • include, the incident, witnesses or neighbors, calls, voicemails, notes on doors
  • Don’t submit any of this to anyone if there isn’t a case or if you are not in contact with them. But detailing everything from the beginning with dates, times, people,  incidents will be helpful if needed.

Dedicate ONE notebook to this and ONE pen. Its authenticity is not likely to be questioned but if it is this will be the easiest way for an expert to verify it. Keeping the same pen and notebook.

Make a medical records request and gather ALL medical records of the child from birth if possible.  

Document anything else regarding the case and the care of your children.


Contact your local and state representatives and inform them of your situation and that you feel that you are being harassed on unfounded accusations and that you fear for your children’s well being.

HOW TO HANDLE CPS

RECORD. RECORD. RECORD.  Download a call recorder app to your phone.  Even pretending to record (if your phone is dead, will keep them on their toes.

PHONE CALL

CPS CALLS YOU: LEAVES A MESSAGE

  • Contact your attorney immediately and take notes of every interaction and go from there. 
  • See examples and contact people who have dealt with this before. 

CPS CALLS YOU: YOU ANSWER AND ARE TAKEN BY SURPRISE 

  • Thank them for calling, and ask a few questions.  DO NOT ANSWER ANY OF THEIR QUESTIONS OR AGREE TO ANYTHING!
  • I appreciate your concern for my children and I would really like to speak with you when I am in a position to speak confidentially with you and after I speak with my attorney.
  • Can I get your full name, title, number and what exactly this is pertaining to?  What was the date and time of the initial report?
  • Which child was involved?  Was this an eyewitness report?
  • What exact concerns do you have in this matter?  What information will you be looking for?
  • Thank you for answering my questions, I will probably not be able to get ahold of my attorney until tomorrow afternoon and you are welcome to call me back towards the end of the day.
  • Thank you for your time”

DO NOT SAY ANYTHING ELSE.  IF YOU CAN’T  RECALL ALL THIS SIMPLY SAY.  “I AM SORRY YOU CAUGHT ME AT A BAD TIME, YOU ARE WELCOME TO CONTACT ME AFTER I CAN SPEAK WITH MY ATTORNEY”

DO NOT tell them you will call them.  It is their job to CALL you. 

If they don’t call you – the better for you. If you promise to call and don’t then they might make note that you didn’t do what you said.

Note: write down every detail you can and start gathering needed documentation to support your position. 

CONTACT AN ATTORNEY FAMILIAR WITH CPS – Ask them to contact cps and demand all further contact be with attorney present.  Do not permit children to speak to CPS without their own attorney present and a tape recording.  Ask that the attorney make a written statement of everything asked with answers. Be sure the social worker reads, dates and signs it as accurate.

AT HOME

SCENARIO 1- CPS SHOWS UP ALONE

CPS CANNOT JUST ENTER YOUR HOME OR TAKE YOUR KIDS.

CPS does NOT have the “Right” (Authority) to go into your house without a warrant and that law enforcement has to declare “imminent danger” for kids to be removed without a warrant.

Say politely, 

“My kids are Safe and Cared for, please contact my attorney if you have anything else you need, now excuse me, I must get back to my kids.”

SCENARIO 2-  CPS SHOWS UP WITH POLICE (SAME AS IF THEY SHOW ALONE) BUT ADDING

  • “IF” YOU ARE GOING TO TALK, ONLY TALK WITH POLICE:   RECORD.. RECORD.. RECORD..
  • IMPORTANT: Ask POLICE this YES or NO question.

Ask politely:

”Now you don’t REALLY think my child is in imminent danger, do you?” 

 Typical Police Response:

“no, we just want to make sure everything is alright.” 

Say politely:

 ”Well thank you for your concern, I wish to retain my PRIVACY, please come back with a warrant.”  CLOSE THE DOOR.

IMPORTANT

***THIS QUESTION RULES OUT IMMINENT DANGER***

  • “imminent danger” is a specific legal term that they need to declare in order to take your children without a warrant. 

THERE MUST BE 1 of 2 REASONS IN ORDER TO ENTER YOUR HOME

  • Imminent Danger:  Law Enforcement may declare if they believe there is immediate threat to life or harm if they dont act immediately.
  • A REAL warrant.

REAL vs FAKE WARRANTS

Real Warrants MUST

  • Be presented to you to inspect
  • Include specific details of what they are looking for. Places, items etc.
  • Be signed in ink by a judge
  • Be date stamped AND filed in the court (call the court clerk to verify if needed)
  • Have the RAISED State of (Idaho) SEAL.

AT SCHOOL/DAYCARE OR CHURCH… Mandatory Reporters 

SUBMIT A PARENT AUTHORITY/CHILD RIGHTS STATEMENT anytime your child is in the care of someone else. (Linked below)

STATEMENTS  SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING….

  • Invoke your GOD GIVEN PARENTAL RIGHTS
  • Revoke delegation of rights. 
  • Right to have an attorney present.
  • Right to be aware of the attempt

You may want to submit a letter to your kids schools IMMEDIATELY, stating that you revoke your parental delegation and do not consent to your children speaking to anyone, including government officials, or agency representatives without their parent or attorney present and tape recorded..  

INSTRUCTIONS::

  1. Save a copy of Letter
  2. Edit document
  3. Print 4-5 copies
  4. Notarize and deliver while recording to school officials (check your state recording consent laws) Principal, school nurse, counselor, etc.

AT HOSPITAL

PREVENTION (UPON ADMISSION)

Consider making a Written Consent to Treat ADDENDUM NOTICE OF PARENTAL AUTHORITY AND CHILD RIGHTS statement asking for a hospital notary to sign.

“I DO NOT AUTHORIZE MY CHILD TO BE SEEN OR TO SPEAK TO ANYONE WITHOUT PARENTS OR MY ATTORNEY PRESENT…I INVOKE MY RIGHT TO FULL INFORMED CONSENT, TO ASK QUESTIONS AND IF NEEDED SEEK A SECOND OPINION IN ALL CARE DECISIONS FOR ME AND MY CHILD.”

ASK QUESTIONS

  • Record all interactions with medical staff (check state privacy recording laws) Idaho is a one party consent state meaning that in most public spaces, recordings are permitted without the consent of ALL PARTIES.
  • Ask the physician what are the medical concerns with child patient.
  • Ask if these concerns can be monitored at home or followed up with your family Dr.
  • Ask about the risks and adverse reactions and risks of all tests, procedures and medications.
  • Ask if there are alternative treatments, tests or possible false positives.
  • Follow up with your Dr and record the follow up apt while asking these same questions.

You may consider presenting a copy of this to your current medical team upon admission

LEAVING AMA (To leave or Not to Leave) A THREAT HAS BEEN MADE

If there is a threat made to contact CPS,

  • RECORD EVERYTHING FROM HERE FORWARD IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY
  •  Contact an attorney immediately
  • Determine if is safe for patient to leave, THIS GIVE YOU HOMECOURT ADVANTAGE
    •  Determine if the Dr has concerns by asking the questions above
    • Call your family Dr 
      • to assess the risks 
      • set an appointment
    • Ask for clearance to discharge and state your plan to follow up with outpatient care
    • Sign the (AMA) Against Medical Advice form
      • Clearly state that based on the information or lack of information and answers, you do not concur the benefits of the tests, treatment or care plan outweigh the risk and you wish to follow up with your physician 
      • get out of there as soon as possible.

SAMPLE CASE FROM 2019 

EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT

EVENT:  Mom and friend: wrapped a child in shrinkwrap to a chair as a means for safe restraint.  

REPORTED:  School or someone reported them for wrapping child in shrinkwrap and spanking with a wooden spoon:

INTERVIEWED:  Worker interviewed child at school on the 11th of the month.

CPS CONTACT:  Mom agreed to a home visit, 

MOM SOUGHT HELP FROM ADVOCATES

MOM REVOKED PARENTAL DELEGATION FROM SCHOOL:  Mom gave a simplified version of the SAMPLE LETTER to her children’s school.

MOM DID NOT FOLLOW THROUGH:  Mom then changed her mind and no showed to the home visit.

MOM CALLED CPS:  Mom made a voicemail to the worker stating that all communications would need to go through the attorney.

CPS CALLED MOM:  Worker left voicemail on the 28th (see transcribed voicemail below)

MOM RECEIVED LETTER:  Case closed by 30th of the same month.

They fight for homeschool rights, if you join, you can have legal counsel in CPS cases relating to education. They list homeschool laws and other information relating to homeschool on their site. 

Their information is helpful, but to join, you need to be an independent homeschooler, if you have your kids enrolled in a program like Tech Trep, your kids are in public school, therefore not homeschool. If only some of your kids are in these programs and some are independent homeschoolers, they may qualify. 

They no longer require a statement of faith to join.

DIY – HEALTHY GRASS-FED BEEF TALLOW

Tallow has been used safely and healthily for hundreds of years for frying, baking and more and in moderation can still be considered a healthy fat to cook with.  It can be time consuming to make but with cheap access to healthy grass fed suet, or kidney fat, you simply cannot go wrong.

Grass-fed beef fat is a great source of oleic acid, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and other fatty acids that are thought to increase “good” cholesterol, support brain health and a strong metabolism.

1.  What exactly is Tallow?

Tallow is fat rendered from beef and is solid at room temperature but melts into a liquid when heated.

13 g. of fat (including 6.5 g. saturated fat and 5.5 g. of monounsaturated fat)

Healthy oils, such as coconut oil and avocado oil, can also supply you with a mix of healthy fats. However, you would do well to avoid refined vegetable oils as they may be rancid due to exposure to high heat and are very high in pro-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids.

Grass-fed cattle provide the highest-quality beef tallow in terms of nutrients and tend to store more omega-3s, CLA and other beneficial compounds in their bodies in comparison to those cows raised in typical feedlots and grain diets.

3. Tallow has a High Smoke Point

Tallow has one of the highest smoke point of cooking oils of around 400–420 degrees.  Smoke point is the temperature at which an oil starts to burn, smoke and lose many of its nutritional benefits and chemical compositions may change.  Thus tallow can be used at high temperature while avoiding problems such as free radicals.

Risks and Side Effects

There is alot evidence stating that natural animal fats may actually be healthier than partially hydrogenated vegetable shortenings, especially the kinds that contain trans fats, which have been linked to conditions including heart disease.

Finding high-quality tallow from grass-fed cattle is important to avoid hormones, antibiotics and more. It’s important to avoid hydrogenated animal fats (meaning they contain not only cholesterol and saturated fat, but also dangerous trans fats).  Making your own tallow from a local grass fed beef is a healthy alternative.

If you are at high risk of heart disease and have a history of high cholesterol, consider limiting your use of pure animal fats and consider consulting your doctor.

HOW TO RENDER BEEF FAT INTO TALLOW

CROCKPOT OR STOVE TOP METHODS

The oven method is just too messy and complicated but an option.

1 crockpot full of fat renders 3 quarts of finished beef tallow.

STEP 1: GET BEEF FAT 

BEEF FAT FROM THE BUTCHER

  • Contact your local butcher and ask for the kidney and or other organ fat off of their beef – grass fed and finished beef that is antibiotic and hormone free is important (plan to pick it up promptly as they toss a ton of this stuff).  This can be very low cost or free.  
  • If you have your own beef at the butcher or home butchered, you can ask them to set aside the fat and organs for you.  Kidney fat makes for great clean fat. 
  • Set it out for 15-30 mins prior to working with it if frozen.  If fresh, freeze overnight and set out before gathering supplies.

STEP 2:  SUPPLIES YOU NEED

BEEF PREP SUPPLIES

GATHER THE FOLLOWING AND PREPARE TO GET REALLY MESSY

  • Cutting board
  • Large sharp knife
  • Crock pot (easiest), or large stock pot.
  • (Optional) a Stick blender
  • Frozen beef fat of the kidney set out 30 mins prior to cutting
  • Garbage can or bowl for scraps
  • Small and Large ziplock bags or other way to store any preferred organs
  • Paper towels and other cleaning supplies
  • Easy access to hot water and soap
  • Kitchen towel for drying your hands

STORAGE AND CLEANUP SUPPLIES

SET ASIDE THE FOLLOWING OR GATHER WHILE RENDERING (FOR STEP 8)

  • Clean WIDE MOUTH/FREEZER SAFE canning jars, canning funnel, lids and rings or something to store and freeze rendered fat in.
  • A measuring cup or scoop, and plate to set it on.
  • Large stock pot with hot water for heating jars and lids (a canning pot works well for this) OR if you just want to throw the jars in the dishwasher on a sanitizing setting right before use, that works too. OR heat in the oven at 280° for 
  • A large piece of cheesecloth or other fine staining method cut to fit your large bowl. (FIRST STRAINING)
  • A large bowl and a rubber band or something  to secure cheesecloth or mesh cloth around the rim for the first filtering. (I use my instapot and the rubber lid seal (pictured in STEP 10)
  • A small piece of cheesecloth to double over your canning funnel and jar. (SECOND STRAINING)
  • A bowl for filtered chunks to discard.
  • OPTIONAL: A second crock pot for rendering and heating excess filtered fat chunks OR a pot to keep removed fat chunks warm while filling jars.
  • Several clean kitchen towels (not your favorite ones as you may get lots of grease on them your first time. 
  • A roll of paper towels.
  • Hot pads or cloth kitchen gloves
  • Kitchen towel for drying your hands

STEP 3: TURN ON THE CROCK POT TO LOW or set up a stock pot on the stove.

STEP 4: CUT THE FAT UP INTO SMALL PIECES

KIDNEY FAT: BEFORE a nice piece of kidney fat 

(not all pieces are this clean and nice to work with)

  • Frozen beef that has been set out for 15-30 mins is easiest to work with 
  • Start in a clean area with all your cutting board, knife, bowl for scraps, fat, stick blender, ziplocks (unseal them and have them ready-you will be greasy) clean towel and paper towels.
  • Cut the fat into small pieces.  The smaller the pieces, the faster the process 
  • Cut out all meat, organs or impurities and only use fat pieces (IF YOU CANNOT GET IT ALL OUT THAT IS OK. BUT GET AS MUCH AS YOU CAN)
  • Fill the crockpot with the fat pieces as you go.
  • Set aside any organs that you may want later (freeze or refrigerate as soon as possible) have someone on hand to assist with the ziplock bags if needed as you will be very greasy.

STEP 5: FILL THE POT

  • I like to fill the pot as I go with the heat on lowest setting
  • Once the pot is full discard or freeze any remaining fat for next time or get another one going.

FILL THE CROCK OR POT FULL OF FAT

STEP 6: CLEAN UP AND PREPARE THE SET ASIDE ITEMS LISTED IN STEP 2 for filtering

  • You may need paper towels, washcloths with grease fighting soap and/or very hot water to clean everything up 

STEP 7: LET COOK DOWN (DO NOT LET IT BOIL)

  • Let it cook down about 6-8 hours in a crock pot or until fat is no longer white
  • Check and stir about every hour (more if in the oven)
  • Turn down heat setting if it started to boil
  • After the pieces are soft, I like to break the pieces down more by using a stick blender if chunks are small enough. (BE CAREFUL NOT TO SPILL OVER OR RAISE STICK WHILE BLENDING)

STEP 8: SET OUT ALL THE SUPPLIES GATHERED AND SET ASIDE FROM STEP 2

  • Clean WIDE MOUTH/FREEZER SAFE canning jars, canning funnel, lids and rings or something to store and freeze rendered fat in.  
  • A ladle, and plate to set it on
  • Large stock pot with hot water (a canning pot works well for this) OR if you just want to throw the jars and lids in the dishwasher on a sanitizing setting right before use, that works too.
  • Cheesecloth or other fine straining method 
  • Bowl for filtered chunks to discard

STEP 9: TALLOW IS COMPLETE

  • Tallow has completely rendered when it crackles
  • Heat up your jars and lids
  • Ensure they are clean and dry (a paper towel or clean lint free cloth works nicely for this)
  • Place canning funneling into the jar and top with a cheesecloth or other staining method

STEP 10: STRAIN THE TALLOW INTO THE BOWL  (FIRST STRAINING)

  • This is the messiest part. To save time and mess, carefully read through the following instructions to familiarize yourself with what is needed and have supplies on hand.  

NOTE:

DON’T walk away from this in the middle.  I have found this can cause cheesecloth to clog with tallow if allowed to cool in the jars halfway through.

  • Tightly secure the cheesecloth over a clean bowl with a little slack.

TIP: I tighten up the edges of the cheesecloth to avoid spilling chunks into my CLEAN TALLOW.  Do a little testing of your cheesecloth by slowly pouring and adjusting as needed.  You DO NOT want to allow too much chucky fat to slip by this step.  If more than a cup of chucky fat slips through, you may want to repeat the steps PRIOR to filling your jars.

BOWL WITH CHEESECLOTH SECURED (I use my instapot insert with the rubber lid seal around it like in the picture) 

  • Slowly scoop out liquid tallow avoiding as much of the small chunks as possible at first.
  • TIP: SCOOP rather pouring liquid tallow avoids excess dripping of greasy tallow,
  • Slowly pour  through the cheesecloth into the bowl.
  • Let it drain well but DO NOT LET IT cool as this will clog your filter and you MAY need to toss and get more cheesecloth. If this happens, try removing excess chunks and pour more hot tallow though it.  
  • As your straining gets full of chunks, carefully remove and dump into the discard bowl to work with later. 

REMOVING FAT CHUNKS FROM CHEESECLOTH

REMOVED FAT – WILL RETURN TO HEAT AND REFILTER ONE MORE TIME

  • Continue until your rendering pot is empty and use a spatula to remove remaining loose chunks.  The cleaner the CHEESECLOTH FROM LOOSE CHUNKS the better as they fall into clean liquid when pouring.  Wipe with a clean paper towel if needed.
  • Carefully remove excess fat chunks from your cheesecloth.  I find a spatula works great use the same paper.  You don’t want chunks falling into your clean liquid
  • Then carefully pour strained tallow back into warm crockpot to keep warm while filling jars.
  • Your tallow should now be free from chucks and very clean and clear like the picture.  It is ok for a few small chunks but be sure to catch them in the second filtering when filling your jars.

BOWL OF FAT CHUNKS

  • SET ASIDE BOWL FOR FIRST FILTERING FOR THE FAT CHUNKS

NOTE:***DON’T be tempted to skip the first filtering process and filter directly into your jars, be assured, you WILL prevent a headache, mess and save time by using both filtering processes due the mess created by the excessive amount of solids that can slip by your filter in the funnel each time you clean it out (which is needed almost every scoop).  I have tested both ways while learning and the 2 filtering method is by far the easiest, cleanest and fastest method I have tried.  

BIG MISTAKE BY SKIPPING THE FIRST FILTERING SLOWS PROCESS DOWN AND ALLOWS TALLOW AND CHUNK TO COOL WHILE CONTINUALLY CLEANING AND DUMPING THE FUNNEL AND SMALL CHEESECLOTH  FILLED WITH CHUNKS.  NOT TO MENTION THE GREASY HANDS AND EQUIPMENT AND THE OTHER BLOOPERS THAT CAN OCCUR. IF NEEDED  TOSS ALL THE CHEESECLOTH AND GO BACK AND START STEP 10 AGAIN.

STEP 11: FILL YOUR CLEAN HOT JARS WITH HOT TALLOW

  • Set up your small cheesecloth to cover your canning funnel
  • Make sure your scoop is clean and dry.
  • Use a paper towel to completely dry the inside of ONE of your jars. (if you have large hands, you may recruit smaller clean hands or use a utensil handle and a few extra paper towels to remove all the water.
  • Place the funnel and cheesecloth into your jar.
  • With your clean scoop – carefully pour your tallow through the funnel paying attention to your liquid level.

NOTE:  To insure a good seal and clean tallow- DON’T walk away from this in the middle.  I have found this can cause premature spoilage of tallow if allowed to cool in the jars halfway through.

  • 1 inch headspace
  • Once jar is full get a HOT lid and place it on CLEAN RIM of the jar.

IMPORTANT NOTE: DIRTY GREASY RIM – If you may have dripped tallow down the funnel or overflowed you will want t use a Hot damp clean cloth to carefully remove grease from the rim.  OR start with a separate clean jar with funnel and pour hot tallow avoiding grease on the rim.

  • Place ring over lid and tighten finger tight.  (I like to rotate jar to ensure tallow covers the lid and other area inside the jar and seal better.) Set aside to cool.  
  • REPEAT STEP 11 UNTIL ALL FILTERED TALLOW IS IN JARS.
  • If you stop here, you may want to keep refrigerated up to 5 weeks and frozen for several years or 3 years potentially on a shelf for soapmaking purposes)

OPTIONAL STEP

  • Return filtered fat from your discard bowl to a heat source to separate the remaining liquid from semi solids fat.  Mix well to separate
  • Clear

STEP 12: OPTIONAL Finally, get the remaining tallow from your bowl of chunks before you discard.  I do this if I need a little more to fill a jar or to set aside and use right away.

  • REPEAT STEP 10 WITH THE WARMING FAT CHUNKS. 
  • Use a spatula to pres down fat into cheesecloth 

STEP 13: Pressure canning (For a food safe long term storage method)

  • Prepare your pressure canner
  • Fill stovetop pressure canner with 2 inches of water.
  • Turn the heat to medium-medium high.
  • Place the metal rack on the bottom of the pan.
  • Add hot jars to hot water
  • Secure lid on your pressure canner.
  • Once you get a steady stream of steam from your vent, place the weight over the vent and watch for pressure to reach 10 pounds of pressure.
  • Once the pressure reaches 10 pounds.  Adjust heat to keep it steady and set the timer for 25 minutes.  (This is based at sea level- adjust according to your pressure canner instructions and your sea level so at 2500 feet above it is 35 minutes need to verify on my list)
  • Once the timer is complete, turn off heat and remove if necessary.
  • Once pressure reaches 0 pounds remove lid
  • Remove jars when able and place on a towel in a draft free area to avoid cracking jars and let cool for 24 hours.  You can also wrap the towel around them to protect from any cool draft especially in cooler months.  

Hot tallow will be clear like canola oil.

Cool tallow will be white and opaque

STEP 14: Clean and Label your jars

  • Once cool, check seals, if button is popped up or lid is loose, refrigerate to use promptly or freeze for long storage..
  • Clean the jars and rinse well with warm soapy water
  • Label lid: BEEF TALLOW and DATE OF RENDERING and CANNING METHOD

How God showed up in Thyme

During my journey for health I had asked my husband, who owns a 24 hour restoration company that deals with mold, to bring me home something that I could use for the surface mold in my basement shower.  He had always bragged about the amazing, safe and natural products he used for work and I had to test it myself.

How I Discovered Healing in Borax

I was doing laundry one afternoon and using my usual borax and baking soda and I decided to use a little vinegar.  I also had to put my hands in the water to push all the clothes in.  Well my eczema on my hands started burning like mad.  I couldn’t believe how badly they burned and itched and even blistered.  It felt like biting under my skin.  I could not handle all the agony.  

I was experiencing another bad REACTION, ‘I won’t do that again’, I thought!

4 Cayenne/Cinnamon Home Remedies for Eczema Healing

For those suffering with the maddening itch of eczema, flaring, blistering, itchy and chafing- a simple cayenne scrub may aid in healing and itch relief.  Start off slow on the cayenne and test on a small area.  It isn’t the easiest to tolerate at first but has played a major part in my healing journey along with my diet changes.  Here are some recipes I used along with my Cayenne Pain Salve.

Cinnamon Paste (a mild beginning)

  • 1/2 c Peanut Butter
  • 4 Tbsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 4 Tbsp Raw Honey

Mix ingredients well and apply as needed.  Nightly until healing well.  Works well to relieve itching and draw out eczema.  Scrub, massage, scrape, or simply wash off.  Do not hesitate to scrub a little rough as this will help to get the rooted eczema to the surface.

Cayenne/Cinnamon Yogurt (for those just starting out and need a milder start)

  • 1/2 cup yogurt or kefir
  • 2 Tbsp Cayenne and/or 2 Tbsp Cinnamon

Mix ingredients well and apply as needed.  Nightly until healing well.  Works well to relieve itching and draw out eczema.  Scrub, massage, scrape, or simply wash off.  Do not hesitate to scrub a little rough as this will help to get the rooted eczema to the surface.

  • 1/4 cup bentonite clay liquid OR
  • 1/8 cup bentonite clay powder and 1/8 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp Ground Cayenne Pepper and/or 2 Tbsp Cinnamon

Cayenne/Cinnamon Scrub Recipe (For those ready to rage war and try anything)

  • 3 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter and/or Raw Honey

Mix ingredients in a small jar and apply to eczema or acne as needed for relief.  Daily or nightly as able.  Cover with towel or plastic bag as needed to leave on as long as possible.  (You may want to test a small area and the burn is temporary and you build a tolerance to it .  (starting out you may just want to add a dash of cayenne and work up to more)  I literally chased my eczema around my hand this way.  I had to get serious and attack full force.

Directions for using Cayenne treatments

Mix ingredients well and apply as needed.  At night or an hour before bedtime.

Cover with a plastic bag or old clothes to prevent staining clothing.

Wash as needed but burn doesn’t always stop immediately. Apply cool yogurt or other neutral cover to draw any burning needed.

The burning may continue after washed off so go at your own pace and tolerance level.  I was hard core and went full force after a while as my torture and itching was severe as well.

Caution: Wash Hands Thoroughly after application or use.  Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth or other sensitive areas after using.

After complete or in the morning, apply Pine Salve.

CAUTION: I would not try the cayenne with a young child. Cinnamon will burn a little so maybe start with a Tbsp and work up to more. I would do this for about a week during the most severe itchy times of the month as the eczema cycles.

Kidney Stones ~ Causes, Remedies, and Prevention

After going through kidney stone removal in the ER a few times and also passing them at home, I thought I would share a few quick tips on how to manage the pain and how to know when to see the Dr.  It is also important to find support and ways to improve your diet and lifestyle, heal your gut and drink plenty of clean water

3 Major Causes of Kidney Stones

Kidney stones hit at times when we are too busy to take care of ourselves.  In times where we simply are not paying attention and around holidays or stressful times of the year.  There are many reasons why we struggle.  Here are just a few that have been factors for me.  

 

1. Dehydration

I tend to get get dehydrated when I am too busy to think of drinking enough water.  It is recommended to drink clean once ounce of clean filtered water for every pound of body weight per day.  For someone my size, it is about 120 ounces per day.  So When I start to feel my kidneys, it is too late and so to rehydrate, I need more than this.  I shoot for double this amount for a day or two until I feel better.

2. Irregular Urination

When I am stressed or too busy, I tend to not be making trips to the bathroom, I am not drinking enough because I simply do not have TIME to use the bathroom or I do not have good ACCESS to a bathroom.  

 

3. Medication Use May Increase Susceptibility

 

 

MY KIDNEY STONE HISTORY

2010

I believe my health took a turn for the worst following taking Tamiflu as directed when I had swine flu in 2010.  A few years later I was told that I had protein in my urine during routine prenatal urine samples.  I was also given renal scans and had unexplained hives during this pregnancy.

Treatment of Influenza

to 75 mg of TAMIFLU once daily for 5 days. No recommended dosing regimens are available for patients with
end-stage renal disease undergoing routine hemodialysis or continuous peritoneal dialysis treatment.
Prophylaxis of Influenza

2012

I was camping and dehydrated and I began having extreme side and flank pain and throbbing, it came and went until finally was constant and worse than any of my four natural childbirths.  I went to the ER and lost 3 full days, I had a nickel sized kidneys stone lodged in my lower ureter.  I had lithrotripsy and came out alive.  At this point I was in survival mode and didn’t make any connections.  No one mentioned causes or prevention.  No one mentioned anything else that I can recall.

Up to this point, I was suffering severely from kidney stones, body pains, and severe eczema, I had viewed “those” people who drastically changed their lifestyles, lived on a strict diet, denied their kids sugar, ate all organic,  or read labels at the grocery store as a bit extreme and I could NEVER live such a restricted life.  Why live in such misery and torture?  That is not for me.

I started having kidney pains and had read how sugar affects kidney stones so I began using molasses instead of sugar in everything.  I didn’t want to have to deal with them EVER AGAIN.  So it is important that I found something that works for me.
I then slowly added honey to my diet.  I personally do not use agave because it is too sweet and I usually add too much. And some use stevia or xylotol. My sugar addiction slowly faded and I have been pretty good about not using too much if any processed or refined sugars for over 2 and a half years.

DIY Organic GMO FREE Produce

One of the ways I avoid GMO’s and toxins is to grow my own garden.  This ensures that I know what goes into my food from seed to table.

I have sprouted and grown my own starts, transplanted them into my garden, harvested and then canned excess produce.

 

This year I ordered beautiful organic starter plants from Azure Standards.  They arrived in 3 days ready to harden off and put in the ground.  This helped save me time and energy of babisitting a bunch of plants inside my house this spring.  I cannot wait to see the fruits of our labor.

 

We prepare beds, burn weeds and add fertilizer in the form of manuer, rabbit pooh and compost, we then plant seed or transplant according to the planting calendar in our area.   At first we water in the plants or seeds for good roots and germination but then water. Farther away and when needed to encourage strong and deep root systems.
Saving seeds is another way to ensure you are getting clean food and avoiding toxins.  Also makes for cheap future gardening.

Clean soil, free from sprays and toxins for over 3 years.

Clean source of water or filtered water hoses and or ways to water.  Timers and other tools are available for easy garden care.

A little time and energy for garden prep, weed control and harvesting.  Set aside a time each day or week to check on your garden. It is important to watch the weather and adjust water and protection accordingly.

7.  PEST CONTROL

Watch for signs of bugs or other garden pests or animals.  Diatomaceous earth can be safely applied to control pests

Parasite Cleansing

GOING INTO BATTLE…  (READ FULL DISCLAIMER)

Here is how I parasite cleansed.  It was long and ongoing for about 3-6 months initially, then an ongoing maintenance diet and watching what I eat.  I am not eating processed foods, GMO’s, toxins, or sugar.  It is a a complete lifestyle change.

KEYS TO MY CLEANSE

I only cleansed after I was ready and eliminating stool regularly. (This is great time to  STOP AND GET REGULAR and gut healing and come back to PARASITES LATER.)

With my homemade tinctures (Like these store bought Parasite Cleanse of Black Walnut, cloves and wormwood.)

What I did: (one to two weeks or until I felt like I needed to change it)

  • Black Walnut Hull 1-2 droppers 2 times daily (antifungal)
  • Cloves 1-2 droppers 2 times daily (kills eggs)
  • Wormwood 1/2 dropper 2 times daily (helminth-worms) (please research this ingredient for yourself to determine if you feel comfortable with possible side effects)

It is recommended to start with the smaller dose and increase after you know what your body can handle.  Dr Hulda Clark Recommends a smaller dose, but since I made my own, I wanted to be sure to get enough.

Then I did: Alternate Options in rotation based on what I had and what came to mind with Prayer…  Some things are seasonal as well.

Option A:  week 1

  • Olive Leaf Extract 1 dropper full (2-3 times daily)
  • Papaya seeds 10-20 seeds (2-3 times daily til out of papaya)

Option B-good for a light day when you must work or do things (a few days)

Mix 2 Cups pineapple juice to 1/2 cup seeds and split for 1 days worth

  • Pumpkin seeds – 1/4 C seeds *#@
  • pineapple juice – 1 C juice *#@

Option C: One batch of tea for about a week

Option D: 1 or 2 days

Option E: 1 day

Option F: 1-3 days up to a week

  • Rest from these parasite remedies when your body says no more…

Option G

  • Get back into the routine and keep going.

REMEMBER

Keep in Mind, I kept up the prior routines

  • INTERNALLY
    • Continue drinking lots of filtered water
    • Continue the daily detox drinks
    • NO SUGAR GRAIN OR DAIRY 
    • Continue on your clean diet and avoid meat for a time
    • Continue gut healing remedies such as bone broths
    • Continue taking probiotics and eating fermented foods *#@
  • EXTERNALLY
  • UNIQUENESS
    • This isn’t an all exclusive list and everyone is different
    • So be praying and doing what your body feels needs to happen
    • Trust yourself and do your own research

KEEP GOING AND DON’T GIVE UP OR IN UNTIL THE WAR IS OVER…

Slow and steady…

I continually eat antiparasite foods and will cleanse every so often for a week or so just to keep my body in check.

I will get back into this active cleanse routine every 6 months or so when I no longer breastfeed as there are parasites everywhere and toxins too.  Again, this is a new toxic free lifestyle.
