My Top 10 Lifestyle Changes for Healing


I started my journey of healing with a few simple diet changes for my kidney stones and stumbled upon several things that relieved and ultimately healed my eczema.  I first cut sugar and did a 30 day faith detox, 10 days into that, I also found that my husbands mold cleaner, THYME, that he used for his remediation business, FLARED my hands but ultimately brought some major healing. Another accidental discovery happened while doing my laundry in vinegar borax and baking soda. I was pushing clothing down into the HOT HOT water and then my hands started itching and burning like MAD. I didn’t know what to do, it was SO BAD, then I applied a pine salve and it brought SO MUCH RELIEF that I started bathing in it. IT WAS amazing. These are a few that come to mind and it was 6-9 months of HELL and intense changes but worth it all. Too much to write and paint the whole picture to anyone so in an attempt to help my friend, I wrote it all out in my blog.

Reconstructing my normal existence…

If you would have told me three years ago that things in my life would NEVER be the same I would have told you you were crazy.  I thought I would forever struggle with skin issues, pain, night crawling, itching and blistering.  I thought I would always be tired and sluggish and in a brain fog because I was getting older.

But that is exactly what has occurred over the nine months of my healing.  Every aspect of my life has been demolished and reconstructed in a whole new and improved way.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

  • I sleep soundly and wake up refreshed.
  • I eat better food.
  • I feel better.
  • I shop differently.
  • My relationships have changed.
  • My routine has had drastic reconstructing.
  • My goals and perspectives have changed.

NOTHING is as it used to be and it NEVER will be again.  I’m moving on to new horizons.  There is NO TURNING BACK.

One Day at a Time

We live in a culture that seeks immediate results.  We want things NOW.  We want things easy.

Well nothing is that simple.  When it comes to healing and lasting results we must take it One Day at a Time and recognize our complete need for divine intervention.

I want to simplify it for you and share some history of how I got to where I am.

In the early 2000’s, I had heard about detoxing and cleansing when I worked for Dr Christopher’s herb shop connection back in college over.  But like so many, I had never considered my need for changing anything or pursuing it for my health, I was young and healthy.

That was then.

Fast forward to Early 2016

I knew I was not feeling well, I was tired all the time, and I struggled to get out of bed.  It seemed like a mild depression or lack of motivation.  Maybe I was just getting older.

I had settled for this as normal.  I couldn’t figure out why I had no energy, after all, I ate a variety of good food and drank only water.

On top of that, my kidneys were hurting almost constantly, reminding me of the nickel sized kidneys stone that had put me in the hospital for three days while camping in August of 2012 and my skin eczema had reached an all time unbearable, itchy, and blistering state that kept me up most nights.  Especially the week leading up the the full moon.

I started experimenting with removing added sugar from my diet and discovered that my eczema and my kidneys were fueled by added sugars.  Eating a clean diet and slowly introducing green drinks, Probiotics and Digestive enzymes as well as Chicken Broth and bone broth to my diet.  I also had checked out a book from the library The 30 Day Faith Detox by Laura Harris.  In this book, I found helpful tips on easy detoxes from one organ to the next, recipes and shopping recommendations, as if this wasn’t enough great stuff, she wraps it all up with a great daily devotional and spiritual and relational detox tips.  (I only made it to day 10—Here is why ~ I am looking forward to completing the 30 day journey as soon as I stop breastfeeding my 5th child)

I soon started experimenting with removing added sugar from my diet and discovered that my eczema and my kidneys were fueled by added sugars.

I knew I had stumbled on something incredibly effective and dove right in.  My body was overloaded in many areas and I was desperate for lasting result.

Here is my reasons for detoxing.

  • I knew my body must be overloaded
  • I heard about the benefits of detoxing
  • My organs were beginning to hurt for no apparent reason
  • I was tired of feeling like I could not function
  • The improvements I had after stopping my added sugar intake by using alternatives to my favorite sweets, chocolate, and beginning my green drinks after one week were evidence of HOPE.

About this same time, I had been talking with my friend in South Africa and gaining a lot of good Ayurvedic remedies and I had checked out the book 30 Day Faith Detox By Laura Harris from the library.  This all fell into place at the right time.  After eliminating added sugar from my diet, I began noticing changes to my eczema and even surprised by the disappearance of the corn on my foot that I had been quite used to as the new normal.  I started using the methods in the The 30 Day Faith Detox which included Detoxing the Liver gently, Colon and Eating Clean.

Eczema is Clearing


My eczema started clearing up after I was able to go without sugar and started drinking my greens from Purity Products Organic Juice Cleanse. It would flair back up when I snuck any sugar and that dang maddening itch began.  I would notice a pattern as I was out standing outside observing the full moon.  So I began to pay attention and realized that quite a bit of restlessness, swelling and itching occurred each month for about 5 days prior and up to the full moon.  I tried many things that helped, like changing my diet, morning detox drink, and some that didn’t.  While diets is key, the easiest most simple methods are my Nightly Detox Baths followed by soaking my hand in vodka and essential oils and alternating with my thyme discovery.  I used these things nightly until my hand cleared and anytime I could feel a flare up followed by applying Pine Salve. With patience and vigor over the past 8 months I have been clear of painful blistering for two months now. End Each Night With a Detox Bath

is the largest detox organ of our body. Once I accepted this, I started taking detox baths every night until my skin cleared up nicely.  I simply used a recommended bath I had heard about online and added some essential oils for fragrance.

My mom has used Young Living Essential oils for years for massage therapy, but I had just thought they were used for their scent alone.  I just hadn’t grasped the healing properties they hold until this year.

Before going to bed each night I would get proactive, I found that I could sleep longer if I bathed before bed.


My Nightly Routine During Intense FLARES (looking back, it would be helpful to find a basket and keep all these things handy for easy access)

  • Cinnamon and Cayenne Scrubs
  • I also found great healing in OTHER METHODS A FEW HOURS BEFORE BATHING OR BED
  • I prepared a detox drink or two to keep hydrated and lots of water, (I sometimes needed help getting these as I would be in the bath ASAP seeking relief from the pain and flaring)
  • I skin brushed for lymphatic detox
  • I gathered my detox bath ingredients, kept under the bathroom sink, a good book or anything to do while in there. (I also kept these things handy in my bathroom when I could)
  • A good towel or two and a robe

Skin Brushing is great to speed up detoxing and help the body move lymph and boost the immune system.  Basically running a dry bristle brush over the skin lightly several times in sets starting at limbs and moving slowly towards the heart.

Standing in the shower just before running the bath or before bed.

  • I start on the hands and move from top of fingers to shoulders to the heart.
  • Then the palm of hands up the arms and then under the armpits then towards the heart.
  • Then repeat the other arm.  Then I go from the face to the neck and down towards the heart and cover every inch.
  • Then I move from the top of the feet up the legs around the groin and up towards the heart and repeat til every area of the legs have been brushed.
  • Then I move from the top of the feet up the legs around the groin and up towards the heart and repeat til every area of the legs have been brushed.

We have lymph nodes in several areas of our bodies and our lymphatic system is part of our immune system and it gets backed up.  There is no pump and it relies on exercise and movement in order to work and flow freely and oftentimes gets backed up and causes inflamed lymph nodes when our body is trying to fight off infections.  Skin brushing helps get thing moving freely as intended.

DETOX BATHS (I rotated these based on what I had available, I would add ingredients until I would get a reaction if I was up for it)

I was healing from ECZEMA and I found heat helped soothe the itch.  The HOTTER THE WATER, THE BETTER.  I even turned up the temperature on my water heater.  PLEASE USE CAUTION AND DO NOT BURN YOURSELF OR YOUR KIDS!!!

During the coarse of my healing, I would soak as much as possible.  Almost nightly, and more frequently when my eczema was flaring.  I would only use a mild soap such as goat milk soap


I followed my bath by drying completely and rubbing a mix of 1/4 cup vodka, 5 drops of thyme and 5 drops of cloves essential oils on any eczema until the itch has settled, along with any dry spots, zits, moles, and skin tags and allowing to air dry then applying a pine salve I had made onto my eczema.  I had tried it before from my mom and loved it so much that I made my own.

These are some suggestions on detoxing essential oils

More suggestions for detox baths

  • 1/4 cup epsom salt
  • 5-10 drops of essential oils (add to a soap first to disperse)

Along with Detox Baths and Diet, I applied OTHER METHODS

  • Borax and Dish Soap

I always follow end the night and begin the morning using Herbal Pine Salve

We all NEED a little sugar in our diet.  A little sugar isn’t going to hurt you.  Well, there lies the issue.  What is the BIG DEAL?

  1. EVERYONE likes sugar
  2. We think we NEED all the ‘added’ sugars.
  3. Its hardly ever just a LITTLE.
  5. There are at least 141 reasons why sugar is toxic.

Natural sugars in moderation are necessary for body functioning in a healthy and natural way.  However, many of us are at the toxic level of ADDED sugar and consume more than we should in a month, every single day.  I had to come to terms with the temporary pleasures that wreck MAJOR havoc on my health.  Not to mention the GMO’s and refining process that produce toxins.

  • Use healthy alternatives for sugar sparingly as they are more concentrated sugars.

Be careful not to fall into looking for sugar-free as an alternative. There are many unsafe alternatives that are as bad or worse than added sugar.

Use less sugar alternatives as they are even considered questionable by some as some healthy sugars that can kill you.

My Testimony

I have discovered the natural way to improve my life.  It’s far too good to keep to myself. This is for all my friends and family who are curious about my new lifestyle changes and all those others who would like to learn what has worked for me.

Some of us grow up hearing, ‘it’s all about our diet and exercise.’ Well, if you are like me, you may think, ‘I do not need to diet’, or , ‘I eat pretty healthy.’  This is the thinking that has gotten me into a bit of trouble.  Maybe you have trouble losing weight, feel sluggish, losing momentum or plain just don’t ever feel good.  You may be on your own healing path and have tips to share.  You’re in the right place.

Well, diet and exercise is a broad and overused term. I will attempt to break it down and explain exactly what that means to me today…

About Me – My Diet

I am a 36 year old, mother of five children and 110 pounds on a heavy day.  I grew up in Utah, eating the average American diet of cold cereals, malt o meal, oatmeal, eggs, french toast, pancakes, waffles all smothered in margarine and imitation maple syrup and toast with margarine for breakfast’s. Macaroni and cheese, ramen noodles, school lunches and fast foods once or twice a month for lunches.  I enjoyed a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables for snacks and home cooked dinners (mostly out of a can of coarse).  I drank a cup or two of milk daily and a juice on occasion.  We had six kids in the family so the fresh food went quickly.

My Toxic History Turned Testimony

I recreationally used drugs and alcohol and tobacco as a teenager, but I quickly turned my life around upon getting pregnant, and turning my life over to God and being forgiven by the blood shed by Jesus Christ for all my sins. I married at 17 and began my family.

My Struggle With Eczema and Skin

I have always been fairly healthy, but occasionally I had suffered from dry skin and cracking, some athletes feet, eczema and warts.  These skin issues went dormant mostly after my teen years of partying. (I will share my conclusion on this in a later post)

My Home Cooking

As a mom, I loved to cook mostly from scratch and use family recipes, I made homemade pies like my dad and my mom’s no bake cheesecake for Christmas and Thanksgiving. I enjoy creating new and healthy snacks, rice krispie treats, cookies of all kinds (with what I thought was a healthy twist.)  I also enjoyed homemade pancakes smothered in imitation syrup, whole wheat flour, oatmeal raisin cookies with nuts, I served my family crepes weekly (white flour, egg, milk, a thin pancake smothered in margarine and powdered sugar).

My Food Toxins

Basically I ate a good balance of good and healthy foods and plenty of bad foods, a ton of candy, sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup and other toxins for over 30 years. You get the picture.

All in all, I seemed pretty healthy most of the time. I did start to feel sluggish, low energy, and had a complete lack of motivation or ability to keep up with my kids the past 10 years or so, but this is normal right?

So I thought…

The Trials and Errors of My Healing Journey

Vinegar and borax-detox bath with added essential oils such as, thieves, cloves, rosemary, lavender.  To avoid oil burns mix with a small amount of castile soap and run under bath water to disperse evenly.

Garlic and olive oil (Topical and internal)

Borax and peroxide-bath with oils as well

How God showed up in Thyme

During my journey for health I had asked my husband, who owns a 24 hour restoration company that deals with mold, to bring me home something that I could use for the surface mold in my basement shower.  He had always bragged about the amazing, safe and natural products he used for work and I had to test it myself.

It took him a few months to finally bring me home the CHEMICAL.  I was so excited to read the ingredients.  Thymol (a component of thyme oil) and lemon.  I had to laugh.  Here, this powerful non toxic product was used by the professionals to treat child care centers, hospitals and molds and fungus.  It is a virucidal, bactericidal, fungicidal, tuberculocidal and even kills HIV on pre-cleaned surfaces.  It is safe to use on food surfaces and no hazard or FDA approval on the bottle.  I used it for the mold and got some on my hands, on my eczema and it tingled and burned like mad.

How I Discovered Healing in Borax

I was doing laundry one afternoon and using my usual borax and baking soda and I decided to use a little vinegar.  I also had to put my hands in the water to push all the clothes in.  Well my eczema on my hands started burning like mad.  I couldn’t believe how badly they burned and itched and even blistered.  It felt like biting under my skin.  I could not handle all the agony.  

I was experiencing another bad REACTION, ‘I won’t do that again’, I thought!

I applied some of my Herbal Pine Salve and went about my day.

Later that evening I realized that all the blisters were healing and that almost all the eczema was soothed.  Another coincidence?  I think not.  Once again, God was giving me another aspect of knowledge for my healing.  I know now that I had experienced all this in order to help others overcome this painful and irritating aspect of their lives.


How I Use Borax and Thyme

4 Cayenne/Cinnamon Home Remedies for Eczema Healing

For those suffering with the maddening itch of eczema, flaring, blistering, itchy and chafing- a simple cayenne scrub may aid in healing and itch relief.  Start off slow on the cayenne and test on a small area.  It isn’t the easiest to tolerate at first but has played a major part in my healing journey along with my diet changes.  Here are some recipes I used along with my Cayenne Pain Salve.

Cinnamon Paste (a mild beginning)

  • 1/2 c Peanut Butter
  • 4 Tbsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 4 Tbsp Raw Honey

Mix ingredients well and apply as needed.  Nightly until healing well.  Works well to relieve itching and draw out eczema.  Scrub, massage, scrape, or simply wash off.  Do not hesitate to scrub a little rough as this will help to get the rooted eczema to the surface.

Cayenne/Cinnamon Yogurt (for those just starting out and need a milder start)

  • 1/2 cup yogurt or kefir
  • 2 Tbsp Cayenne and/or 2 Tbsp Cinnamon

Mix ingredients well and apply as needed.  Nightly until healing well.  Works well to relieve itching and draw out eczema.  Scrub, massage, scrape, or simply wash off.  Do not hesitate to scrub a little rough as this will help to get the rooted eczema to the surface.

Cayenne/Cinnamon Clay

  • 1/4 cup bentonite clay liquid OR
  • 1/8 cup bentonite clay powder and 1/8 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp Ground Cayenne Pepper and/or 2 Tbsp Cinnamon

Cayenne/Cinnamon Scrub Recipe (For those ready to rage war and try anything)

  • 3 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter and/or Raw Honey

Mix ingredients in a small jar and apply to eczema or acne as needed for relief.  Daily or nightly as able.  Cover with towel or plastic bag as needed to leave on as long as possible.  (You may want to test a small area and the burn is temporary and you build a tolerance to it .  (starting out you may just want to add a dash of cayenne and work up to more)  I literally chased my eczema around my hand this way.  I had to get serious and attack full force.

Directions for using Cayenne treatments

Mix ingredients well and apply as needed.  At night or an hour before bedtime.

Cover with a plastic bag or old clothes to prevent staining clothing.

Wash as needed but burn doesn’t always stop immediately. Apply cool yogurt or other neutral cover to draw any burning needed.

The burning may continue after washed off so go at your own pace and tolerance level.  I was hard core and went full force after a while as my torture and itching was severe as well.

Caution: Wash Hands Thoroughly after application or use.  Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth or other sensitive areas after using.

After complete or in the morning, apply Pine Salve.

CAUTION: I would not try the cayenne with a young child. Cinnamon will burn a little so maybe start with a Tbsp and work up to more. I would do this for about a week during the most severe itchy times of the month as the eczema cycles.

Kidney Stones ~ Causes, Remedies, and Prevention

After going through kidney stone removal in the ER a few times and also passing them at home, I thought I would share a few quick tips on how to manage the pain and how to know when to see the Dr.  It is also important to find support and ways to improve your diet and lifestyle, heal your gut and drink plenty of clean water

3 Major Causes of Kidney Stones

Kidney stones hit at times when we are too busy to take care of ourselves.  In times where we simply are not paying attention and around holidays or stressful times of the year.  There are many reasons why we struggle.  Here are just a few that have been factors for me.  


1. Dehydration

I tend to get get dehydrated when I am too busy to think of drinking enough water.  It is recommended to drink clean once ounce of clean filtered water for every pound of body weight per day.  For someone my size, it is about 120 ounces per day.  So When I start to feel my kidneys, it is too late and so to rehydrate, I need more than this.  I shoot for double this amount for a day or two until I feel better.

2. Irregular Urination

When I am stressed or too busy, I tend to not be making trips to the bathroom, I am not drinking enough because I simply do not have TIME to use the bathroom or I do not have good ACCESS to a bathroom.  


3. Medication Use May Increase Susceptibility





I believe my health took a turn for the worst following taking Tamiflu as directed when I had swine flu in 2010.  A few years later I was told that I had protein in my urine during routine prenatal urine samples.  I was also given renal scans and had unexplained hives during this pregnancy.

Treatment of Influenza
Dose adjustment is recommended for adult patients with creatinine clearance between 10 and 30 mL/min
receiving TAMIFLU for the treatment of influenza. In these patients it is recommended that the dose be reduced
to 75 mg of TAMIFLU once daily for 5 days. No recommended dosing regimens are available for patients with
end-stage renal disease undergoing routine hemodialysis or continuous peritoneal dialysis treatment.
Prophylaxis of Influenza
For the prophylaxis of influenza, dose adjustment is recommended for adult patients with creatinine clearance
between 10 and 30 mL/min receiving TAMIFLU. In these patients it is recommended that the dose be reduced
to 75 mg of TAMIFLU every other day or 30 mg TAMIFLU every day. No recommended dosing regimens are

I was camping and dehydrated and I began having extreme side and flank pain and throbbing, it came and went until finally was constant and worse than any of my four natural childbirths.  I went to the ER and lost 3 full days, I had a nickel sized kidneys stone lodged in my lower ureter.  I had lithrotripsy and came out alive.  At this point I was in survival mode and didn’t make any connections.  No one mentioned causes or prevention.  No one mentioned anything else that I can recall.  



“I Could Never Be a Health Nut!”

Up to this point, I was suffering severely from kidney stones, body pains, and severe eczema, I had viewed “those” people who drastically changed their lifestyles, lived on a strict diet, denied their kids sugar, ate all organic,  or read labels at the grocery store as a bit extreme and I could NEVER live such a restricted life.  Why live in such misery and torture?  That is not for me.  
Well that all changed when I finally began to search out a remedy that would end my kidney stones.  I began to feel better after changing a few key things in my life and I began experiencing the drastic healing of my health issues, my moods being up, energy levels amazingly improving, I was converted.  I began learning what I can eat rather than focusing on the foods to avoid.

DIY Organic GMO FREE Produce

One of the ways I avoid GMO’s and toxins is to grow my own garden.  This ensures that I know what goes into my food from seed to table.


I have sprouted and grown my own starts, transplanted them into my garden, harvested and then canned excess produce.


This year I ordered beautiful organic starter plants from Azure Standards.  They arrived in 3 days ready to harden off and put in the ground.  This helped save me time and energy of babisitting a bunch of plants inside my house this spring.  I cannot wait to see the fruits of our labor.


We prepare beds, burn weeds and add fertilizer in the form of manuer, rabbit pooh and compost, we then plant seed or transplant according to the planting calendar in our area.   At first we water in the plants or seeds for good roots and germination but then water. Farther away and when needed to encourage strong and deep root systems.
Saving seeds is another way to ensure you are getting clean food and avoiding toxins.  Also makes for cheap future gardening.

2.  SOIL OR OTHER MEDIUM (Aquaponics, etc)

Clean soil, free from sprays and toxins for over 3 years.

Clean source of water or filtered water hoses and or ways to water.  Timers and other tools are available for easy garden care.


Heirloom organic seeds or starter plants.


5.  TIME

A little time and energy for garden prep, weed control and harvesting.  Set aside a time each day or week to check on your garden. It is important to watch the weather and adjust water and protection accordingly.


Fertilizer or healthy soil.  Manuer, compost, permiculture


Watch for signs of bugs or other garden pests or animals.  Diatomaceous earth can be safely applied to control pests

Parasite Cleansing


Here is how I parasite cleansed.  It was long and ongoing for about 3-6 months initially, then an ongoing maintenance diet and watching what I eat.  I am not eating processed foods, GMO’s, toxins, or sugar.  It is a a complete lifestyle change.


I only cleansed after I was ready and eliminating stool regularly. (This is great time to  STOP AND GET REGULAR and gut healing and come back to PARASITES LATER.)

With my homemade tinctures (Like these store bought Parasite Cleanse of Black Walnut, cloves and wormwood.)

What I did: (one to two weeks or until I felt like I needed to change it)

  • Black Walnut Hull 1-2 droppers 2 times daily (antifungal)
  • Cloves 1-2 droppers 2 times daily (kills eggs)
  • Wormwood 1/2 dropper 2 times daily (helminth-worms) (please research this ingredient for yourself to determine if you feel comfortable with possible side effects)

It is recommended to start with the smaller dose and increase after you know what your body can handle.  Dr Hulda Clark Recommends a smaller dose, but since I made my own, I wanted to be sure to get enough.

Then I did: Alternate Options in rotation based on what I had and what came to mind with Prayer…  Some things are seasonal as well.

Option A:  week 1

  • Olive Leaf Extract 1 dropper full (2-3 times daily)
  • Papaya seeds 10-20 seeds (2-3 times daily til out of papaya)

Option B-good for a light day when you must work or do things (a few days)

Mix 2 Cups pineapple juice to 1/2 cup seeds and split for 1 days worth

  • Pumpkin seeds – 1/4 C seeds *#@
  • pineapple juice – 1 C juice *#@

Option C: One batch of tea for about a week

Option D: 1 or 2 days

Option E: 1 day

Option F: 1-3 days up to a week

  • Rest from these parasite remedies when your body says no more…

Option G

  • Get back into the routine and keep going.


Keep in Mind, I kept up the prior routines

    • Continue drinking lots of filtered water
    • Continue the daily detox drinks
    • Continue on your clean diet and avoid meat for a time
    • Continue gut healing remedies such as bone broths
    • Continue taking probiotics and eating fermented foods *#@
    • This isn’t an all exclusive list and everyone is different
    • So be praying and doing what your body feels needs to happen
    • Trust yourself and do your own research


Slow and steady…

I continually eat antiparasite foods and will cleanse every so often for a week or so just to keep my body in check.

I will get back into this active cleanse routine every 6 months or so when I no longer breastfeed as there are parasites everywhere and toxins too.  Again, this is a new toxic free lifestyle.

Pregnancy Pointers

There are some of us who struggle with chronic sickness and infections, from allergy symptoms to UTI’s and more.  As you may know, infections and prescribed treatments can cause complications in pregnancy and parasite cleansing is simply not an option while pregnant or nursing. 

Here is how I managed to maintain my health while PREGNANT and nursing and they are even fairly safe for kids.

I always pray to God for direction and listen to my body to do what feels right for me.  This is not medically referenced but simply from my own experience.  I did not find any complications for me.  AGAIN USE CAUTION AND TRUST YOUR BODY IF YOU HAVE SIGNS OF DISTRESS.

1.  Diet

Avoid all sugar dairy and grains as much as possible.  You would do best to eliminate them completely.

2.  Water

Drink plenty of clean filtered water.

  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Pumpkin seeds and pineapple juice blended together
  • Coconut oil

Try this simple home remedy.  Make ahead and use often with any symptoms of illness or infections.

4.  Supplement with

Be sure to keep bowels freely moving.

  • Borax and vinegar​ 1/2 – 1 C each thieves 8-10 drops diluted in a soap base to evenly distribute and avoid burns

Shower in am if you have any signs of intestinal worms with anal itching.  Worms and parasites are nocturnal.

Wash laundry

Bag directly out of dryer according to each persons items.

Clean house

Thyme and thieves are a great non toxic home cleaning option that do the job well.

With my fifth pregnancy, I had tested positive for Group B Strep and here is how I reversed the overgrowth and was tested negative 5 days later.

    • #4 – I used the Douche mix
    • #5 – I rinsed off
    • #6 – Completely towel dried
  • Inserted a Raw Garlic Clove on a string vaginally (use a needle and thread it on for easy extraction)
  • Eat a few Raw Garlic Cloves or Healing Honey
  • Take Liposomal Vitamin C

Others recommend

  • Coconut Oil for its naturally antiviral properties.
  • Vaginal plain organic yogurt vaginally.
  • Using a Chlorhexidine rinse vaginally before and during labor. (This is the usual protocol) there is evidence about the beneficial bacterial transfer during labor that brings this practice into question.

Note: stress makes things worse so use this time to slow down, ask for help, pamper yourself and know you are not alone.  By keeping your body clean inside and out, you will create an undesirable living environment for the infections and you will minimalize the effect it has on your body and growing baby.

Don’t forget to return to this and complete an full detox and cleanse after you wean your child and eliminate and lingering guests.

Diatomaceous Earth

I have been using Diatomaceous Earth for sometime now.  I came across this amazing substance when I lived in Denver.  We got bedbugs from a neighbor and it was horrendous.  Thankfully, I had researched and found that this could be helpful.  I later learned many more applications.

I have used diatomaceous earth (DE) every so often over the past 8 years.  As for the past 3 years, I used DE occasionally in my smoothies occasionally for internal intestinal parasites.  I found in small doses with lots of clean water, I feel really good.  It really has no taste but very drying and chalk-like.  I found the best and easiest way to get it in my diet.  As with all parasite cleansing, I was sure that I was using the bathroom regularly and eliminating waste and eating a clean and healthy diet.

Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a natural organic material of fossilized remains of tiny, ancient aquatic organisms called diatoms. Remains of these diatoms including cell walls/shells, it easily crumbles to a fine powder, of biogenic silica.

Diatomaceous earth —- diatomite — works like a natural detox agent, helps to clean the blood, kills parasites and viruses that cause illness.  It’s affordable, simple to use and safer than many store-bought detox products.  Other benefits of using DE internally include reducing odors, helping reduce gas, cleansing the digestive tract, boosts liver function and absorbs toxins in the blood.

DE has Silica which works like antioxidants in high-antioxidant foods by remaining  stable particles being suspended in a liquid medium, this helps it to fight free radical damage.  As its broken into a colloidal form, it acts like a detoxifier for the blood while carrying an electrical charge and combines with free radicals and other harmful toxins. Silica can also neutralize the charge of free radicals enabling them to be removed from the body by sweat, urine and feces, and therefore slows oxidative damage and aging effects.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published a study reporting that silica helps the body to eliminate heavy metals, such as aluminum,  heavy metal detox. In studies, it has been shown to have a high-aluminum-affinity and reduces aluminum availability from the human gastrointestinal tract. (1)

Purify Water

An article in the Journal of Applied and Environmental Microbiology, reports that diatomaceous earth can help kill viruses and purify drinking water.  Viruses have been found to be dangerous and abundant in certain sources of drinking water, including wells, raising the prevalence of PARASITES and having a significant impact on bacteria and algae populations in the ecosystem. Tests have concluded that after filtration by DE, heavy metal and viral contaminated tap water, the DE helped absorb up to 80 percent of the viruses present, including poliovirus 1, echovirus 5 and coxsackievirus B5, which were all present in tap water even after filtration. (3)

Improves Joint, Bones, Ligaments, Teeth  and Ski Health

In 2007, the Journal of Nutrition Health and Aging published a study that stated dietary benefits of silicon for bones and connective tissues.   It prevents low bone mass (osteoporosis), which is considered “a silent epidemic of the 21st century.” Silica within DE helps with normal bone metabolism and joint formation, with evidence over the past 30 years suggesting there’s a positive association between dietary silicon intake and better bone mineral density. (6) Thus, DE makes a great addition to any osteoporosis diet and treatment plan.  DE is naturally abrasive and has been used in many toothpastes, skin exfoliators, polishes and skin scrubs.

Parasites and overall health 

The Oxford Journal of Poultry Science published a study that found DE has the potential to effectively control internal parasites.  It was observed in hens that produce organically raised, free-range eggs.  They studied two breeds of commercial egg-laying hens and observed that DE improved the egg laying production, quality of their eggs, and parasite control as compared to the control groups. (4)

Two groups of hens used in the study differed in their ability to resist internal parasites confirmed by examining their gastrointestinal tracts.  The hens fed DE had significantly lower incidences of infections.  They had fewer Capillaria FEC, slightly lower Eimeria FEC, fewer birds infected with Heterakis and significantly lower Heterakis worm infections.  The Chickens that were fed DE were significantly heavier in weight, laid more eggs and consumed more feed than hens fed the control diet, plus their eggs had larger yolks and more nutrient rich.

Is it Safe? 

The Food and Drug Administration states that food grade diatomaceous earth as “Generally Recognized as Safe,” which means it’s legally allowed to be added to many different types of foods, beverages and supplements. (9) Small amounts of silica are normally present in all body tissues and usually found in urine, too, so it’s well-tolerated and not known to cause many side effects. (10)

Basic steps for safely using DE as a detoxification agent and to protect bones and joints:

  • Take 1 teaspoon of food-grade diatomaceous earth with filtered water once a day on an empty stomach at least one hour before or two hours after eating.
  • Drink 1 cup of filtered water after each dose of DE to improve its effects.
  • Make sure to consume plenty of water with DE.
  • Increase dosage slowly over several weeks, up to 2 teaspoons daily, or 1 tablespoon max.
  • Split the dosage into two parts taken in the morning and one at night.
  • Take DE 10 days on and 10 days off for 90 days to effectively and safely detox.
    • Another option is to take DE daily for a few weeks and track symptoms, stopping and starting again throughout the year. It’s safest when you give your body breaks from detoxing and don’t use it continuously for very long periods of time.
    • NOTE: You may notice some mild side effects that can develop as your gut environment changes, yeast dies off and your body releases stored toxins, which should diminish within a couple weeks.

NOTE:  In extreme cases and for fleas and bedbugs, sprinkle lightly on beds, furniture, shelves and anywhere else you have a problem.  Also be sure to wash and bag (sprinkle DE inside the bag and bag immediately after drying) all clothing (separated by persons to easily find clothing during the time treatment is needed)

The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act has classified DE as a safe substance for household use.


  • Step 1: Brush and vacuum carpets or any area where you think bugs, insects or fleas could be lurking. This will aggravate them and get them to move, which allows DE to work better. (11)
  • Step 2: Apply diatomaceous earth powder where needed in your home, yard, your carpets, car, etc. Rub the powder into the carpets with a broom. Use enough to finely cover the surface but not too much that it’s easy to breathe in a lot.
  • Step 3: Let the powder sit for about four to 12 hours before vacuuming. It’s recommended that you repeat this process once a week for a total of three to four weeks.

Possible Side Effects of Diatomaceous Earth?

It is generally recognized as safe to use on the body or to consume, however, some people react to DE in the following way.  If you have sensitive skin, eyes or nasal passages, it’s a good idea to monitor your symptoms and watch out for any strong reactions. It’s also recommended that you keep DE away from babies and small children who might be more sensitive to DE’s effects and can react to it by experiencing irritations.  As with anything new, start off in small doses and listen to your body.  ALWAYS DRINK PLENTY OF FILTERED WATER..

  • I have read where it may be harsh for some who have KIDNEY STONES
  • irritation of the nose and nasal passages when you breathe it in, or if consumed in large amounts
  • it can contribute to coughs and shortness of breath.
  • irritate the skin and cause some mild irritation and dryness.

No long term health effects have been observed in external application on animals and no reporductive effects have been found in rats with high doses for six months


The National Pesticide Information Center states evidence that inhaling a very small amount of crystalline silicon over time (the kind used in small quantities in some types of diatomaceous earth, especially pesticides) might contribute to the following, however, the risk is low considering the vast majority of diatomaceous earth used in products for human consumption is amorphous, not crystalline silicon.

ALWAYS USE CAUTION WITH CHILDREN, WHILE PREGNANT OR NURSING.  Do your own research and start on a low dose and slowly.

DIY ~ Apple Cider Vinegar

As I continue my journey, I learn to do more things on my own and make things from scratch.  I come across easy and economical recipes to make things I am using daily.  With the kids selling apples each year with Watts Kids Market, we always have an abundance of apples.  While I love composting and we have our Worm Farm to feed, my friend suggested that I make my own apple cider vinegar.
Well I tried and botched the first batch, here is the batch I just made.


What you need:

  • Organic apple cores, as many as you can fit in a jar

  • Filtered water – fill to cover the cores

  • Organic apple cider vinegar with the mother – 1-2 Tbsp

Cover the jar with a coffer filter or cloth and let ferment in a dark spot in the cupboard or on the counter out of direct sunlight for a week or two.
Check every so often for vinegary smell.  Strain, bottle it up and refrigerate.  As with all ferments, avoid contact with metals or plastics.
Drink a Tbsp or 2 daily for optimum health, kidney stones or use it in your Detox Baths

2 DIY ~ Tonics Cancer & Infection Remedies

Master Tonic AKA Fire Cider

Fire cider, or Master Tonic, is a time tested remedy, used traditionally as an anti-microbial, decongestant, and circulatory herbs and spices.

A very potent antibiotic.

It can be taken daily to support the immune system, stimulate digestion, and warm you up on cold days so it make a great winter immune booster.  Use daily, just gargle and swallow 1 TBSP of fire cider every day with a meal.  It works best undiluted, but the first couple of times using, you may want to have a glass of filtered water available to chase it with.

It can be taken for combating a cold or infection by using 1 TBSP of the tonic 5-6 times a day.

Other ways that I have used Fire Cider is added to my vegetable juice, added to food in recipes especially good on quinoa dishes, or I have used as dressing on my salads with a little olive oil.

Once fermented, I strain and sautée some of the strained pulp with shredded carrots, cabbage, broccoli, and fresh herb stir-fry and add to spring rolls.

The main ingredients:

  • apple cider vinegar
  • 1 whole garlic bulb
  • 1 onion
  • 2 fingers ginger
  • 1 horseradish
  • 1-5 hot peppers
  • I have added 2 finger of turmeric as well

Add diced ingredients together in a large mason jar and cover with apple cider vinegar and place in a cool dark place for about a month but can be used after about a week or less if needed.

I have mine in the fridge now and still have used it after sitting for a year.  I did not strain my batch completely and I add vinegar to it when low on liquid.

CAUTION:  The end result is potent and hot, I NEVER use on an empty stomach, and I start with a teaspoon for the first few times.

It is considered by this Author to be safe for pregnant women and children, in small doses as it can be quite strong, as ingredients are all-natural and contain no toxins.



Along my journey, I learned of Essiac Tea, this blend of 4 different herbs are believed to fight cancer, improve immunity, increase detoxification and decrease inflammation.  I felt led to try it and took about 8-12 cups of this amazing tea.  I bought mine locally as a dry herb combo, but you could purchase these individually and combine and steep.  I will find my recipe and recommended dose and update it asap (please reach out to me if you get to it before I get to this and I will locate it for you quicker)
