Oh No, a Fever!

IMG_20160609_210837.jpgIt can be a freighting time when your child is sick.  It is important to know when it’s time to treat at home and what constitutes an emergency.  If action is taken early on many emergency action may be prevented. A quick reference guide to fever shows when to be alarmed.  Otherwise, many home remedies and herbs may be just what is needed to boost the little ones through the other side and speed up recovery.

Here are my favorite go to herbs for child cold, flu, fever and infection.  The idea is to be prepared rather than panicked at the time of need.  Do your research and have on hand many of these for such an occasion.  Infections are common and can be squashed before they take over and those pesky antibiotics are recommended.

Grapefruit seed extract is a safe and healthy alternative to oral or topical antibiotics.  Oregano and thyme oil can also prove effective topically with a carrier oil. (A very strong antibiotic but just as deadly to your good bacteria that make up your immune system.  -use with caution under supervision of a naturopath or specialist only)

For a stomach bug as when my daughter was sick above with vomiting and diarrhea.
